A charity in Renard is raising funds to buy people out of slavery and help them to claim refugee status. Depending on how their fundraising goes, they may be offering to buy the freedom of several families soon.

It is amazing what paths some misguided nations take in life. Slave labor is indeed cheap and efficient-- if you're a bronze age society building pyramids using stone and manual labor alone.

Of course, anyone with half a brain has long utilized this thing called "technology" which renders slavery completely inefficient.

I for one am not sorry that all 10 of these so-called nations combined could not hope to compete with the Conglomerate economy. Let them continue their foolish ways... its their loss.

Used the more pleasent term indentured servants. Indentured servants were colonists brought over to the American colonies in the early years of the colonies. The servants had to work any amount of time from 5-15 years (depending on the person), with no pay, for the person who paid their fare to cross the ocean (from Europe). After the sentence, they became free.

Use this term and there will be no wars with any nations over the misunderstanding.

But those servents were repaying thier passage, these are clearly slaves. They owe nothing.

The Republic of Coreworlds wish to express that we have no qualms about nations keeping slaves, though we have none ourselves, as long as they are treated in accordance with international law on treating other people. To clarify, they shall not be beaten, starved or given other cruel and unusual punishments for trangressions.
