IC: OK, we've decided to run a survey, we're putting up the United Nations description of our nation, and we want to know your opinion of our country based on the description, we're not making this a poll, just post what you think:

The Democratic Republic of Sharldonia is a very large, devout nation, remarkable for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-working, intelligent population of 56 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The medium-sized, corrupt government devotes most of its attentions to Social Welfare, with areas such as Law & Order and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 18%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Furniture Restoration, and Trout Farming industries.

Military spending recently hit a new high, college students make ends meet by selling their kidneys, the death penalty has been reintroduced, and residents firmly believe there is no spoon. Crime is relatively low. Sharldonia's national animal is the White Dove, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Mark.

ooc: No it doesn't (belong in General). There's nowt wrong with the population either. Is India a "better country" than Switzerland? The UK? France? Canada?

It seems to lack law and order, you should pump more money in to Education and Policing.

Hehe, I've got a 91% income tax rate, which is okay seeing as everyone gets most of it back. 8)

Renard: 18% works for us, it started at 16%, but we raised it 2% because we had important things to do, and 16% wasn't quite enough.
