Mordecai pulled out some biscuits from his jacket, enveloped in a metalic paper. "Here you got, Abriel, make them count. I propose to feed some of this to the wounded, if you have any", said the elf, smiling.

"Thank you, Mordecai, I shall." Abriel said gratefully.

She broke off a small piece and ate it, returning her friend's smile.

"So, Ardek, before we go, any thing important I need to know?"

"Where are we going?", asked Mordecai as he raised his gaze towards Ardek. "somekind of mission?".

Abriel gave him a tired smile.

"No, we're going to get some sleep, and then a debriefing, silly." She told him, her grin growing wider.

"So be it, I'll try to find a nice tree to sleep on...", said Mordecai blushing for the first time in so many years...

"There's no need to reduce yourself to sleeping in a tree. We've got beds here, in the barracks." She told him.

"Oh, you should try to sleep on a tree. It's kind of...peaceful. It's a wonderful experience. However, I won't deny that I would like to sleep in a good bed", said Mordecai smiling....

"Hmm, that sounds...interesting. I'll have to try sometime. I'd probably fall out, though." Abriel said with a self-depreciating laugh.

"Then you should bring a rope", said Mordecai chuckling, "Let's see those barracks. One thing is sleeping in the peaceful forest near my home, and another thing is try that in this vampire filled forest".

"Right, I should have thought of that." The Countess said, blushing.

She took his hand and began to lead him to a block of low buildings.
