..::Star League News Network::..

The SLS Leviathan and it's accompanying four Marine jump infantry brigades were recalled from Terra today. The reasons for this are not yet known, but an official at a press conferance was quoted earlier as saying, "The situation in Klonor can no longer be viewed as optimal for peace. The coup d'etat, the subsequent withdrawal from all alliances, the sudden decision to no longer sale military goods to government, and several vague references from the new government that they are willing to expand their empire by force have led us to believe that the nation of Klonor is now hostile to the Star League."

This is the first we have heard of any degrading of relations with Klonor, but the suddeness of it is startling, to say the least.

OOC: This RP is closed right now to all but Klonor and I, this may change in the future but right now that is how it is. For now this is just a building up of SLDF forces and any response that Klonor might have to the building up.

NOTE to Klonor: If you can, please provide a map of your star systems and their distances from Earth.

A map of my systems:

http://hometown.aol.com/jbk405/images/even%20bigger%20klonor%20map.jpg

Deneb is 1,467 ly from Sol, Regulus is 77.5 ly from Sol, Epsilon Pegasi is 800 ly from Sol, and Gamma Draconis is 110 ly from Sol. Ross 128 is now a Klonor system (claimed once the GA fell) but has nothing more than the GA installation that was originally there.

I own a few more systems, but they are home to nothing ecept maybe a few isolated mining things, not even worthy of mention.

The map seems a bit blurred. Not sure why

OOC: First question, how far is Deneb from Sirius? Second question, what are the names of the populated planets in both systems?

No clue how far Deneb is from Sirius, this is a map showing Jump-Node connections. It doesn't reflect the physical locations of they systems.

And how would I know the names of the planets in Sirius?

OOC: Not Sirius, Dened and Regulus.

Well, the first habitable planet in Deneb is called Lil miss (since I sold it to the nation of Lil miss)

The second habitable planet is just called Deneb, since it's the capital of the system.

Regulus, with only one habitable planet, is just called Regulus

OOC: Okay, that's all I needed to know. That news report was public, so if you want to RP your Emporer recieving a copy from an informant, that's fine.

..::Invasion Planning Briefing::..

Admiral Sun stepped up to the platform, "Since I'm the one in charge of getting you space jocks and ground pounders to where you're supposed to go, I'll be presenting first. We will be bringing all five Strike Fleets with us, in sheer numbers that's more than half of our naval power, so we need to get this right. All five fleets will jump to Sirius together and then recharge there. Once we are recharged, the Dar-es-Salaam and Skye Strike Fleets will split off and make a six jump trip to Regulus, when they arrive they will take out any defenses and hold the fort. At the same time that the Regulus Group is making its fifth jump the Deneb Group will make its first jump and then both groups will make their last jumps at the same time. Hopefully, this will be a complete surprise to the Klonorians and not give them sufficient time to react. If either group should fail their objectives then we can call in the Expeditionary Scout Fleet to plug Sirius and prepare the other Defense Fleets for a counter-invasion. I should also mention that during the air and ground invasion of planet Deneb the Navy will be providing orbital artillery support to any who request it. Commandant Kerensky, the floor is yours."

Kerensky nodded, "Spasiba, Admiral." The Commandant of the SLDF Marine Corp smiled and began his presentation, "I'm sure you all know what Marines do, we're the dumbasses that run into walls of supersonic lead. If the good Admiral can pull off a complete coup and surprise the Klonorians that won't be necessary. Our plan is simple, we drop all of our infantry divisions practically right on top on the capital city using ablative shells and land our dropships 75Km outside of the city in a ring, this should give us sufficient firepower that we will be able to stop any attempt to break the siege on either side. We will of course expect our Army and Aerospace Force brothers to be proactive in keeping the world from coming down on our heads. General Gustav, your podium."

General Gustav just stepped up to the podium and began, "First and foremost, the Army is bringing the II Corp for the invasion. Even though they don't have as much experience as the I Corp, they are heavier and more suited to bringing a capital world's ground defenses to its knees. We will use our battlemech divisions to take on the Klonor armor, our mechanized divisions to take out Klonor mechanized divisions, and our jump infantry divisions to take out any airborn divisions. We are also bringing in an RCT and two Dragoon regiments to deal with any surprises that they might have up their sleeve. Air Marshal MacCleod, your soapbox."

MacCleod gave Gustav the finger as she was walking up to the podium to show what she thought of that crack, "The job of the Aerospace Force for the invasion is simple, overwhelm Klonor air defense assets to gain air superiority. Once that is accomplished we will be providing CAS to the ground pounders when they need it."

With that, the briefing was completed and the commanders of the various branches of the SLDF went to oversee the issuing of deployment orders.

OOC: Well, since you can't know that this is anything more than an exercise, if you even know about it, I won't have to explain my way out of this.

..::Star League News Network::..

Today the general populace was informed that the supposed mobilization of the SLDF was in fact a readiness drill for the entire military, it was designed to test reaction times and branch integration. A humorous aside to this whole incident is that Admiral Sun, Air Marshal MacCleod, Commandant Kerensky, and General Gustav were not told that this was a drill and in fact had drawn up a plan for the invasion of Klonor.

That's one of the more amusing ways of backing out that I've seen. Kudos!
