The First Resian Imperial Councel! (Resi nations and allies)

The Resi Corporation

November 12th, 20XX, 1:00 AM...
A small group of men wearing lower-class clothes huddle together, walking in the same general direction. The group travels along in the cover of night through the industrial sector of Resi City, until they reach an old abandoned steel mill. One of the members points out of his dirtied shawl in the direction of a gate falling off its hinges, which the group imeadiately travels towards. The walk behind the steel mill, the moonlight reflecting on its pale walls, a bitter commentary on the conditions of the working class. An old rusty roll-up shop door sits in plain view, a corner of which is pealed up, allowing the group access. Once inside, the men shed their rags, reveiling well-to-do business suits. The sounds of a party are heard, and the smell of cooked food waifs through a door in the entrance hall.

Through the door the businessmen travel, into a warm room set up much like a theature. However in front of each of the stadium seats there are individual podiums, most of which now covered with steaming-hot plates of food. People were dining on everything from Prime Rib to Mandrin Duck to Fleit Mignon, a sight that would make anyone's mouth water. The businessmen quickly took their seats amongst the others and placed their orders via intercom.

However, an air of importance kept everyone from enjoying this meal as much as they otherwise would. After all, what happened next would be a new page in the history of the Resi Corporation.

((OOC: If you want to join, place delegates in the audience at this time. Once the meal ends, no new entries will be accepted. Furthermore, we must have the presence of Bandonia, Defacto Russia, and Martian Resi Corp before the Councel starts.

We will be discussing foreign policy of the Corporation, as well as what to do about the 01/Slagkattunger situation.))

Tria Gerhart was uneasy as she walked into the council chambers set up for the Resian Coucil meeting. This meeting could well have incredible repercussions for both her people and the rest of the world, and Sara Resi was counting on her to represent Bandonia to the best of her ability. Looking around, she saw distinguished members of all the Resian governments, as well as a few diplomats from Resi-allied nations. In particular, Tria picked out Johann Brahness, the Resian liasion from the Guanyan Administrator-General, whom she knew from other conferences and was on a good footing with. Deciding to talk to Johann later, she took her seat and began eating, albeit in a subdued manner.

((OOC: Still waiting for Defacto and Martian Resi Corp... dammit, what's taking them? At this rate, the war will be over before the meeting starts.

*tips hat to Bandonia for arriving on time*))

OOC: Another war? Yay! Wouldn't want my legions to get bored. By the way... when does Jai get back to Resi Corp?((OOC: I... don't know exactly. For him being the CEO, he never seems to be there, does he? :P

Actually, sense this is using rubber time, Jai is already back in the corporation with Eris. Speaking of which, I wonder if she'd want in on this...))

OOC: This actually occurs before Bandonia's post.

Johann Brahness was not a subtle man. He had always preferred open politics and full on government disclosure. Because of this, the secretive nature of the council made him edgy, but he knew it was his duty to participate. Guanyu, as an ally of ResiCorp, needed to be able to keep track of situations that might potentially end up involving its people. Wearily he prepared himself for what he imagined would probably be a series of empty political discussions.

Or perhaps not...

Tristan Mc Clain entered the room. His brown hair was slightly unkempt, and fell short above his ear. His piercing azure eyes scanned the people that were in the room quickly. The secrecy of this council stirred something within him, and brought color to his eyes for the rush of excitement that flowed through his blood. He sat down quietly, his ever watchful eyes picking out every detail of the people that passed before him.

The Trixian Delegation arrived at the rusty door. Hearing that an Imperial council was possibly being formed. They just had to be in on it due to their expertise on imperial matters.

OOC:: every government i've had has had imperial in it somehow... i just love that word :D

The General, as always, waited for the other delegates to arrive before showing his face. With every passing year, he became more and more reluctant to return to Resi City for consultations, though not out of any disloyalty. He simply loathed such things. His uniform was simple: A black jumpsuit differentiated from those of his subordinates only by the colour of the trim - Silver for them, gold for General officers. Behind him, a hulking JULIE robot shimmered into view, shedding its thermoptic camouflage as he entered the room.

He never traveled anywhere without his robot bodyguard, having been paired with her from the very first days of the JULIE project. In terms of firepower, it was like coming to the conference with a tank for protection, but for The General, it was entirely in character. Some questioned his humanity, wondering if he himself had metal and wires beneath his skin, but never to his face. Certainly, though, he treated his JULIE like a favoured daughter, aranging for her to sit on the floor next to him at the table. He offered no excuses for why he was late, and no explanations, simply taking a seat and surveying the room.

OOC: Never did hear back from ya about the Iesus Christi incident... How'd that turn out?((OOC: Massive ignore fest, everyone angry about various points. This isn't really the place to discuss it. I'll go into length if you contact me by telegram.))
IC (to MRC):
There was much whispering around Tristan, as people stared and questioned each other and themselves. "Is he a Martian?" and "Why don't they contact the motherland more?" were the cheif questions in the crowd. If anything, people were scared of the man, as well as slightly curious. After all, the Resi Corporation had a dim view of space travel, and having a Martian colony didn't seem to fit into this ideology. People watched him as he took a seat, and gradually averted their eyes as a waiter arrived to take his order.

(to DF):
Other dignitaries from various parts of the empire stumbled out of the way of the hulking JULIE robot, not wanting to be crushed by its immense girth. Several waiters who were former citizens of Defacto Russia cowered at the sight of the General who had inflicted much pain, suffering and toil upon them and their kin. One of the waiters that was ignorant of his reputation approached him to take his order. It could be argued that this waiter was just downright stupid, as the JULIE robot scared everyone else off. The reason was obvious; who wants to sit next to a veritable tank?

(to Guanyu:)
Servants rushed to the glorious presence of Brahness and began to wait on him hand and foot. They thought he looked like a large tipper, so they weren't about to waste time dealing with the smaller dignitaries.

(to all:)
The lights dimmed in the vast meeting hall, and the massive crowd quieted to hushed whispers. With a suddenness that made all but the most calm in the audience jump, three spotlights snapped on, one red, one green, one blue, that then panned over the stage and eventually combined onto one point in the middle of the stage, producing a clean white light. The orchastra began to play the Resian Imperial Anthem (http://www.angelfire.com/ns2/corporateislands/impresitheme.mp3) (different from the national anthem) in bold, dramatic notes.

A lone figure approached the stage, wearing a fine black silk sportcoat. His hair was slicked back and parted down the center, and although he carried a casual appearance compared to those around him, the room (with a couple of exceptions :) ) treated him with a deep respect. This man was at the head of the entire Resian empire, and through his power and a small bit of his father's the Resi Corporation had risen from a two-bit operation to a massive world-changing force. It was at this meeting where that force would collect itself for whatever lay ahead.

As Jai Resi stood upon the podium, he gazed upon the many delegates that had come from all corners of his empire and beyond. It brought a tear to his eye to think that he was at the center of such a thing, but now wasn't the time for emotions. Now was the time for history to be made.

"My friends!" he proclaimed as the spotlights focused on him, "Welcome to a new era for our nation! I'm sincerely glad you could all make it here, but moreover I am glad that we as an empire and as a corporation have made it this far. Let us not forget in the proceedings that we are a world power, and as such we must act as one. We are the market of the world, as more than 85% of the world's nations import our goods in some form or another, and thanks to our Martian brothers and sisters we now are in the markets and stores of about 90% of Mars."
He took a moment to indicate Tristan.
"In any case, I believe we should not waste our time on idle chat. The first matter of business is our economy, as usual. However, this time the issue is far greater than in which way should we direct it, but it is whether or not we should begin construction of our own space vessels for sale on the open market. If you have something to say on this issue, stand and be recognised. After all who wish to have spoken, we will vote on the matter."

Trix Redski, Lord Imperial of The Empire of Trixia, stood up. He had the greatest respect for Jai, Jai won Eris while he didn't, but they are still friends, and now Trix nearly has Rachel, resentment is a thing of the past.

"Firstly my lord, i would like to congratulate you on achieving such a wonderful thing, this Corporation, this Empire, truly is a testement to your greatness. And you will always have Trixia's upmost respect"

He took a breath.

"On the subject of selling your ships on the open market, I have both a good and bad point. On the good side it can only benifit the economy, providing a whole new market in which to sell goods. However, on the bad side, your ships are, i'm sure you admit, of a superior quality to others around the globe, so if these were to be used against you, it could be very, very bad"

Trix sorted some paper on his table.

"If, you did decide to sell your ships, i suggest implementing strict laws and porcedures as to who your selling them to and why the nation wants them. If these are done, then Trixia is in full favour of the motion"

Trix looked up an Jai, awaiting his answer.

((OOC: i hope that was a post worthy of this rp :D ))

Tristan looked up in acknowledgement toward Jai, and with a soft smile for the old friend. He had a deep respect for him, for if he were in his shoes, he wasn't sure he would be able to handle it all. He was the type of man, that when he entered the room, the whispers would begin, but they would be of nothing more...just whispers and thoughts. Thoughts to plague their minds and questions to go unanswered until the time when he thought to provide one would serve in his best interest.
"Selling our vessels on the market," he began, contemplating what would be best. "I beleive that we should put some open to other nations, but not all of them. Gradually maybe. Once they by a ship, and see it's remarkable craftsmanship, when another is released to the public, they will buy more. If we do it this way, the economy would grow even more. "
20-11-2003, 17:21
The General rose from his seat, his seven-foot JULIE bodyguard's head turning slowly about to survey the room. There was something different about him, a different cast to his face, a different look to his eyes. Something wasn't quite right about him, and yet at the same time, this was undoubtably The General. There could be no trickery here. Still, something was fishy. Recently, all news from within Defacto Russia had stopped. This was not strange, but combined with the almost friendly demeanor of The General towards the servants, it was most intriguing indeed.

"First, I would like to thank Mister Resi for making this conference possible, and for the fine meal, and especially for the fine rendition of the imperial anthem." he began. "I would, however, like to make a revelation to you all, something we have only began to make public. It has long been a tradition that the Resi nations have fought primarily through the use of robotic soldiers such as Anne." he said, gesturing to the JULIE. The mechanical dipped its vaguely humanoid torso in acknowledgement, and The General went on. "Defacto Russia has also long been the strong striking arm of the empire. Ladies and gentlemen, we just got stronger. As you know, we recently admitted to the existance of two new Mechanicals, the JULIE and JAMES series. Well, we have one more revelation to make."

"Our Manticore-class vessels aren't simply orbital delivery platforms for our Mechanicals, as they have been listed. They're experiments in space-borne warships. Manned warships. Should the empire have need for designers, we have such people."
