Kuruma = Amalgamated
One of Oglethorpia's oldest automobile manufacturer's is swallowed up by Amalgamated Ltd.

LOS POLVERINES, PORLAMAR -- Kuruma Motor Company, one of Oglethorpia's largest and well known automobile makers was bought up today by the ever-growing Amalgamated Inc. conglomerate.

Said Gunther Brown, CEO of Amalgamated Inc.: "We understand that many Oglethorpians feel a bond with the Kuruma name. As such, we shall continue to use the name in auto production; but Kuruma Motor Co. is now a part of Amalgamated Inc."

Oglethorpians have mixed feelings. "The government's too fond of big business," said one woman. "Too many of our friendly, small corporations are being bought up!"

Others have no problem with the buyout at all. "As long as I can still by a Kuruma Hermes," said one young man, showing off his red Hermes sports car, "i'm fine with the buyout."

No word has been released on where Kuruma Motor Co. CEO Jim Duvall will go.

"I'm sure that my record with the company will earn me some position in Amalgamated Inc.," commented the former CEO of Kuruma.

Should any Kuruma employees be looking for jobs, we are considering re-legalizing automobiles, and would be pleased to receive their assistance in setting up our infant industry. Of course, in keeping with policy, no foreign ownership would be permitted, but we welcome technical expertise.

Oglethorpia-Tanah Burung Border

Three men sit in the small Kuruma Leviathan sedan; waved past the border, due to the lax nature of the border patrol.

Once safely within Tanah Burung, the three men all breathe a sigh of relief and contact Rosa Almeida.

"Mrs. Almeida -- myself and two colleagues would be interested in working for you; and not the large corporation 'Amalgamated Inc.'"

Emperor Mishimi mused in his palace has he read the finance part of the newspaper. " Amalgamated Inc., hmm Sounds like something worth invesgating to see if its worth investing in..." He sent out orders to have the conglomerate looked into by his agents, financial, invesgational and others.

OOC: Amalgamated Inc. deals in automobiles and nearly all fields of military hardware: air force, army and navy.

So, uh, they're pretty big

"Huh? Oh. Er, Get me my press secretary"
-Secretary for Finance Ministry enters
-Chief of Finance, Liverpool England is at the table.
"Tell them that the nation is thinking of starting a car company under the Finance Ministry's wings. Ask them if any of them want jobs."
"All right, Sir... Whatever you say."
-The Secretary exits, and sends an email to Oglethorpia

OOC:Of course, thats why he's having them invesagated, he's working his way to being if not the richest, one of the richest men in the world and besides he spies on everyone, he's slowly seting one a massive network of spies to keep taps on Corporations and countries.

The three men -- all former designers of Kuruma Motors, wait on the dark streets of BYMD City.

"Nothin' like streets of Tripoli, eh?" says the first.
"Never knew Tanah Burung was this nice," the second agrees.
"What are we waitin' for, anyways?" suggests the third.

Allen Paxton, Harry Stillwell and Nicholas Rothstein: respectively, of course.

After a few days Emperor Mishimi's Invesagaters began looking into Amalgamated Inc. to see what they could find and how good an invesment it would be, after all the Emperor was one of the richest men in the world for several reasons, also Imperal spies began to try to work their way into the company so the Emperor could keep a closer eye on the conglomerate.

After a hop across the water by hot-air balloon, the three former Kuruma executives are ushered in to Almeida's office in Tiga Burung. The minister is waiting, and rushes forward, her arms open. "Friends, welcome to Tanah Burung! If only we'd known you were coming, i'd have sent a special welcoming party! But i did have some warning, so we've baked you a cake."

Cakes, tea and narcotics are spread out on a table, each decorated with a small sign saying "eat me" or "drink me."

"Please," Almeida says, "help yourselves. You must be parched. But let me tell you why i've called you here. This country banned cars many years ago, for good and sound environmental reasons. But now, we are planning to change that policy. We think auto manufacturing can help lead the industrialization of Tanah Burung. And we're very excited that we've been able to find a way to make fuels from common vegetable products."

She winks conspiratorily. "You see, that way, there'll be no trouble from the environmental lobby. They're a pretty powerful lobby, what with having their own man in the collective presidency and all.

"But you're probably asking where you come in. You seem to be unwelcome back home. We're prepared to offer you citizenship here if you'll take expert adviser jobs at the new Auto Manufacturing Cooperative. What do you think?"

Kuruma-made automobiles are a famous series of foreign automobiles in Omz222, as many homes use them beside their Honjak Electrics-made automobiles. It is very sad to see such a classical company being gobbled up by the growing corporations today. But as well, this should provide some more economic growth for Oglethorpia this way, perhaps.

Allen looked at Harry and Nick; and with their nods, he began speaking. "We accept -- we're not interested in working within the massive corporation that has bought up Kuruma Motors. I'm sure they won't miss us."

I assure you, Minister, that despite the fact Kuruma Motors is now under our ownership, we will continue to produce their models under their name.

So the Omzians will not be without the Kuruma-made automobiles they so love.

Before former Kuruma executive Jim Duvall sat an older man, his hair graying, but still maintaining a decently full head of the pewter colored hair.

Duvall looked over the contract before him, putting on his glasses as Brown slid towards him a fine pen.

"What's this, down here?" asked Duvall.

Kuruma employees reemployeed by Amalgamated Inc. will be in employment of Amalgamated Inc. for a minimum of five years and no less.

"Oh, nothing," said Hugh Brown casually. "Just your worker's rights, non-competition agreements; all that junk the government mandated us to include."

"Right," said Duvall.

"Excellent," said Brown. "Naturally, you'll retain a position in our Kuruma automotive branch; how's 'plant manager sound?'"

Duvall frowned at the prospect, but had no choice.

"I'm so pleased to hear it," Almeida replies. "I look forward to working with you. We'll make the announcement soon, then. In the meantime, sit and relax, or a guide awaits to take you to your hotel or on a tour of the city. And there will be some citizenship classes, once you're settled in."
