Independant Pluto's Space Fleet - Generation Two

Notes on technology

Hyperdrive and Space Fold technology was purchased from Capsule Corporation.
Hyperdrive is a way of tunneling "below" normal space. The speeds are given with a hyperdrive multiplyer (i.e., 2x). To determine speed, use multiplyer/10^6c. Lower numbers are faster.
Space Fold is teleportation with a range of 5,000 LY that takes a massive amount of energy. Our ships cannot Fold without a burst of power transmitted from our nation throught Hyperspace. Energy transmission tech was in development for quite a while.

The energy shielding technology was traded for with Intergallactic Hell. It absorbs energy from weapons and repels asteroids.

The hull tech was developed by Guanyu specifically for this. It is: Nuclear Shielding, Beam Resistant, Laser Resistant, Particle Shielding, Impact Shielding, Ray Shielding, Radiation Shielding. The catchy name assigned to it is Guanyu Multi-Phasic Reactive Hull.

Repulsorlifts and artificial gravity were bought from Gurguvungunit.

Defense systems

Numerous lasers and missile launchers are attached to the cubes that house my nation. The cubes are equipped with IH shield generaters.

OOC: So far, not bad. I can't speak for future edits, but it seems pretty reasonable so far. I have just one suggestion, move slowly.

It is better to build up the total numbers of your forces slowly then to just suddenly have 100, 500, or even 5000 ships appear in your inventory. If you RP it, you'll get more credit.

Very realistic seeming numbers on the real acceleration.

I also have one pointer..."reactive armor."

In real life, reactive armor refers to a type of tank armor. Basically, it is a thin layer of explosive sandwiched between the main tank armor, and a metal plate. The idea is that when a missile strikes the tank, the explosive detonates and the metal plate moves at an angle to deflect the missile's explosion. It also works against some tank rounds.

The problem with using it in space is that energy weapons are more common. A laser beam, particle beam (including slow-moving ion beams), or plasma bolt/ball/whatever is likely to set the explosive off. This won't damage the armor underneath much, but it will stop the armor from being "reactive" to future missile/projectile strikes.

Of course, your armor might not be "reactive" in the same way. But if that is the case, then how exactly is it reactive?

Lastly, all armor is specifically designed to be resistant to weapons. Just because Guanyu made it doesn't make it special or inpenitrable...only different.

But as I said above, so far, good overall stats.

It's not impenetrable. Not at all. And I think that the "reactive" is basically meaningless. Just a cool word. Anyway. this isn't an announcement of the fleet's compleation, just a place to tweak stats for now.

No, it is estimated that you need to get your facts straight. Did you miss a few points in history class? Like, say, the Manhattan project, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki? Those were fission bombs. They're also not used any more, as most nations who want to threaten global destruction have switched to the much more effective fusion weapon which is at the core of today's thermonuclear missile. Please read up on things before you try to sound like you know what you're talking about; you'll embarass yourself a lot less and probably make other people think a bit more of you.

ouch, getting smacked by someone a month younger than you. I complelty missed that, good catch Haven Two. you might want to consider researching anti-matter as they make excilent torpedo types. As for laser bombs, I would assume they would fulfil an anti-interceptor role, making the missile harder to shoot down.

After all, a small interceptor or a few small interceptors, all robotic, would combine well with some simple bombs for much the same effect at less cost.
