An Overview of the Axackal II "Imperial" Goverment

11-11-2003, 03:22
This is for OOC Knowledge, this is how the "Imperial" Goverment of Axackal II works.

After a decade of rule at the age of 26 then Dark Lady Helena Cocytus realized that though she held total power in Axackal II a long review of history revealed that goverments (dictatorships) like hers always seemed to fall within thirty years of their rise to power. The overview allowed her to see another means in which to hold longterm power, Helena noticed that while pure Dictatorships held enough weakness that allowed them to fall apart a "Monarchy" was longer lasting and some nations had monarchys that streched along an unbroken line for endless millenia.

Seeing the Monarchy as something more stable than a dictatorship (and holding the same amount of power) Helena declared that she intened to recreate the Dominion into the "Black Iron Imperium of Axackal II" and then during a lengthy coronation ceremony she was declared "The Black Empress of the Black Iron Imperium of Axackal II" and the founder of the dynasty of House Black. Helena with her new powers then declared herself divine and banned all religions except her new "Church of Political and Spiritual Enlightenment" and enforced her "Holy Books fo Political Thought" onto the people who saw their children truly become believers while (most) of the adults began lipservice to keep themselves out of the new Despatos (death camps) created to "Ensure that the population is not tainted with the evil words of religious traitors and political liars."

The New Empress began to give titles and estates to her various military commanders and sycophants and yesmen and her friends but her Generals were the only people (other than Helena) whol held any real power.

I don't see Morgoth in this review, as far as I know, he's the true ruler of that country.

Oh, really now?

Wait... anytime anything happens to you, you ignore, don't you? That and switch to another puppet until it blows over.

Well, I ignore your ignore and thus you and your little Dread Lady Nathicana ripoff are still a smouldering crater filled with a defeated people owned totally by the Imperium of Melkor Unchained.

Hmm... People could recongize you as annexed, then.

Look, Mushy, most people are against you here. You have never, ever taken a fall from anything. Your abandoned Mushycal when it was about to be completely owned, and you simply "ignore" when Assawipe II gets completely owned.

Not taking responsibility for the consequences of your actions doesn't endear you to anyone.

Fuck all of you, I'm have had it up to my neck with all of you assholes constantly on my case saying that, "Oh you should let us beat you because we hate you" well fuck you! That is my answer, Melkor DOES NOT RULE THIS NATION, HIS INVASION NEVER HAPPENED AND THAT IS FINAL!

Mushy... I'll make this easy on you.

WE DO NOT HATE YOU.

We are merely extremely disappointed.

If a chain of events is activated that leads to an unavoidable conclusion, it is honorable to chin up and accept that conclusion. Ignoring or just moving to another puppet just shows defeat and surrender. Why didn't you try evacuating the pink DLN ripoff to regain her country via treachery? No, you just saw that you would lose any stand-up fight and ran away.

And that disappoints those that play with you. Such a dishonorable retreat from actions that you brought upon yourself almost makes it certain that no one will play with you, because they know it just isn't worth it. You'll ignore and whine until you get your way, which leads to everyone else just shunning you.

You can resurrect this; you can take up the fight, take what's coming to you, and then slowly work your way back with lessons learned to win your vengeance.

Your choice. Either continue on with this silly ignoring, and gather ill-will. That or take the hit, survive it, conquer and prevail with your wits and courage and gather respect.

Then again, all I expect is a "f*** you, I'll do as I please" response.

I hope you exceed my expectations.

Here is the problem with your theory, I believe (and practise much tot he dismay of people like you) the policy that wars MUST BE PREARANGED between the Rp'ers otherwise I just consider it a pathetic waste of my time (and my computer's health) and just ignore the attack, it's that simple.

I am forever the victim, why me?

I'm not in disagreement. That seems to be the only way to keep people from complaining (and they still generally do anyway).

And why are you always the victim? You play brinksmanship, trying to tick off as many people as possible. Don't be surprised when they try to do something about it.

Well, if you honestly didn't expect Melkor to blow you all to hell after you answered his request to visit Axackal II with "Sure, why not?" then you indeed have no concept of causality.

Honestly, Mushy, it's not that you're a bad writer, and it's not that you don't have any good ideas (albeit more than a few are highly unoriginal... though I do credit you for doing fairly well on your Brave New World-based nation). Your problem is that you must always, always, ALWAYS get your way, that everything must always, always, ALWAYS go EXACTLY as you had planned it, and that everything that contradicts your plan is godmodey, stupid, and deserving of a solid ignore.

These aren't difficult problems to fix. Just stop making these mistakes, and you'll be amazed how quickly everyone will leave you alone. Instead of yelling back, why not LISTEN for a change?
11-11-2003, 04:14
But wouldn't you be more than pissed off when every single Rp people try to force you into seems to involve you LOSSING your nation at every turn without anyway to get it back?

No I don't, I didn't ask for a war with Melkor, I just thought it was going to be a peaceful military parade not an invasion as for the Mishakal thing I believe that your reactions were a little TOO extreme.

WTF does "brinksmanship" mean?
Brinksmanship is a term coined around the mid-20th century. In a nutshell, it means you use provocative language and behaviour to bring yourself to the brink of war without actually declaring it. People are (rightly) afraid of war and hesitate to cross that line without clear provocation. Brinksmanship plays on that fear by attempting to bully people into compliance with the threat of war.

In other words, it means you're acting like an idiot, and sooner or later someone is going to call your bluff. In Melkor's case, he made you look like a fool, and you object to it. You didn't see it coming, and you refuse to accept the consequences. It makes you look even worse than before.
11-11-2003, 04:20

You thought he was going to have a military parade featuring HIS ENTIRE MILITARY? There were signs pointing to an invasion that whole while. Melkor does NOT like being disrespected, and you showed him an extremely heinous disrespect. You deserved whatever was coming to you.

as for the Mishakal thing I believe that your reactions were a little TOO extreme.

Oh, sure. You invade France, and the world just lets it happen. Need I remind you that the last time France was invaded, the biggest war in world history took place?

It IS worse. There's a lot less angst in a Greek tragedy.

Anyway, since you're apparently incapable of taking CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, I'll stop now. I have better things to do.

You got invaded. Melkor was rather rude about it, but he was playing very much in character. He made you an offer without telling you what was behind it. Without questioning it, you agreed. When the trap was sprung you cried foul, and wonder why no one agrees with you.

Melkor, in spite of his reputation, is accounted as a very good role-player. He suckered you, and he didn't clue you in beforehand. Jarlsberg (when he was around) didn't clue me in that he was going to plant a bomb in my leader's (and main character) head, and I wasn't terribly pleased about it either. But I role-played the consequences. You could have accepted the invasion and played a resistance movement, or an attempt to negotiate a treaty or simply role-played a valiant and gory end to your nation. Instead you chose to godmod and whine incessantly.

So this is what it boils down to. People are attempting to give you constructive criticism. You're accusing them of attacking you. So what we're left with is that you believe your nation was never invaded. Everyone else believes your nation is under control of Melkor. Anyone who agrees with you can play with you. Everyone else will just ignore you.

Does anyone have a problem with this summation?

I could care less about how much or how less the people here view me, all I want is to be able to have fun with this GAME (as this isn't life or death) and make a few friends, not join in a mass social group and play elitist (I get more than my fill of that at school) with the other "hip" nations.
