AMF News Update

A letter was recently found in a stack of files that were scheduled to be burned. The letter was sent to a local news station, who then read the letter on the air. The letter was worn and faded, but here's what we've managed to save:

The world has abandoned us. We stand alone agai---<illegible>, and it sickens me. It makes me physically ill to hear that most of our allies have deserted us. These fair-weather friends of ours will one day see the error of their ways, but unfortunatly for them it will be too late. The Light and Good that Freeks once fought, bled, and died for has turned it's back on us. For far too long, AMF has been a tool of the "Good", and they have used us for their own personal agendas for the last time.
We have fought numerous wars, including two World Wars for their ideals. We fought and suffered so that they could feel safe against the "Evil" nations of the world. And how do they repay us, with their mistrust, their abuse, their ridicule? I will tell you this mu--<illegible>, and it's going to f--- change now. No more will we be a slave to their testament, no more will we do thier dirty work. The only ones that still trust and respect us are the ones that have stood beside us since the beginning. Personally, I will not send another Freek to die in some crusade of theirs. I will not send another Freek to bleed and die for them when they spit all over us. <illegible>
Curse them, curse them all and their hypocritical ways. They gained our trust only to destroy it and ridicule us. They laughed and pretended to be on our side when they knew damn well that they were playing us. Well no more, the Light has betrayed us. They have created wounds that will not soon be healed. Damn them all.....I am no longer going to do what THEY want, I'm going to do...what I want!!!

Damien sat in his chair listening to the news. He was infuriated that his letter to Bastien was made public. There was only one thing he could do now, set the record straight.

Good evening. It has come to my attention that a letter written by me addressed to Bastien the Bronze of Pantera was made public. Let me start off by saying that everything I said in the letter is true. The people of AMF need to know that the world is doing to us. We have been shit on for far too long, and I cannot see it happen to another Freek ever again. I have come here to say that it is my decision that all former ties to every nation, with some exceptions, are to be broken immediatly. The nations that we wish to further associate ourselves with are:

The Eastern Bloc, Aequatio, Neo-Wu, Pantera, and Sniper Country. These are our closest friends who through thick and thin have stuck by us, and for that we are eternally grateful. As for the rest of the nations in the world, to hell with you all. We are the fallen, we are The Caducus.

With that, Damien walked away from the conference.

Hartman entered Damien's chambers, a look of slight concern across his face. Damien, don't you think some of your words were a bit...harsh? Damien looked at Hartman, and calmly replied. No Hartman, I don't think they were. Very few have one out of their way for us, and those that have are being remembered. Face it Hartman, we're in this alone. Our fair-weather friends are gone now, and we must rely only on ourselves. The recent trials of our nation have given us the chance to see just who is really loyal to us and who is not. It disturbs me that a vast majority of nations that we once trusted have now scoffed and turned their backs on us. Why should we continue to be nice to people that are only out to use us?

Hartman agreed, but retorted. But sir, isn't this only hurting ourselves in the long run? Damien quickly snapped back. I doubt it. Most nations in the world have done very little for us to begin with, so I don't think we will hurt in the long run...but they will be the ones to suffer. No longer will they push their problems off on us, no longer will we fight their wars. They will have to find a new pushover now.

I believe the opposite. AMF has prospered and grown by it's own hands, not the hands of others. Come to think of it, just about every major accomplishment we've made has been our own doing.

I'm tired of AMF being the "Bitch" of the world, constantly jumping in to do other's dirty work. We will no longer fight for those that we thought were "Good", nor will we stick our necks out. AMF News Update

We have just recieved word that AMF's Skynet nuclear missile defense system has been indefinatly suspended. This order came shortly after Dreadfire's press conference. A short statemenet was issued:

As I said before, we're done protecting everybody else. We're done doing others favors, hence why we are shutting Skynet down. We are not going to continue providing a free serice such as Skynet for those that could care less about us in the first place.

While Skynet is (temporarily?) shut down, Freek SDI units are still active. This has been an AMF News update.

Well, in all my wars, I generally take my reward from the ashes of the enemy. In Joggolostic, I got a brand new nuclear crater to use as a prison camp. In New Spartha, I got the world's largest Uranium mine.

I cannot help but lump most nations into this classification, because for far too long we've been the dumping ground. We've been stepped on and shit on for the last time. We're done doing for others, and from now on we do only for ourselves and the few friends that haven't deserted us.

I would like to add that way back when, before I thought you were an ass (all OOC, I have no opinion period IC), I was being threatened by one of those countries that was RPed like Iraq, and you and Western Asia both donated equipment and offered help. While the thread is obviously long gone by now after the mass purge (this was back in June, and I'm missing posts I made in early August), I clearly remeber saying that if you needed anythgin, I'd help. Hell, on my MS Word doc about NS, I have it written in that if 'WA or AMF needs help, will send what I can'. Just food for thought.
