Last Xanthalian church shuts down. Holiday declared.
Xanthal's government and population celebrated the closing of the last church in Xanthal today, marking the end of organized religion in Xanthal. "This is a great day for our nation," proclaimed Xanthalian dictator Nightshade Carrin in front of a crowd at the capital square this afternoon, "organized religion has been the bane of the religious and unreligious alike since it began millenia ago. Now we can truly claim to be a nation of religious freedom. No longer must our nonreligious population deal with the interference of church in societal affairs, and no longer will our religious population be compelled to make their beliefs conform with that of an institution. Long live the Empire!"
The crowd response was positive, as they shouted back the traditional response.
"Long live the dictator! Long live the Empire!"
The international community has yet to comment, but initial response from inside Xanthal looks good. The Xanthalian Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Social Affiars, and Truth have formed a committee to answer any questions that arise from outside Xanthal.
As a protectorate of the Xanthalian Empire, Seed's goverment officials salut you for your disbanding of religion and wish the people of the Xanthal a happy and more productive lifestyle without religion.
OOC: Check TG's please.

OOC:Right....
Uh sure. Just like the chinese and every communist bunch have Eliminated organized reglion.
~King Alern
Except we didn't eliminate it. The government played no part in the shutdown. It's cultural. Xanthalians haven't been big on organized religion for hundreds of years, they think that people should discover their own spirituality.

The Penguinatan government has trouble understanding why organized religion is such a terrible thing. Organized religion simply means that people of the same faith come together under the same roof.
It is an odd change, indeed. Penguinatans, by large Christians of Lutheran and Methodist faith, are perturbed by this new event.
Edolia, a new ally of Xanthal, applauds this move and congratulates Xanthal. The last churches in Edolia are almost completely empty after a brief resurgance of religion due to foreign donations to Edolian religious institutions was defeated by the Ministry of Secularism.

The people of the Drakonian Imperium enjoy the Separation of Church and State so that organized religion does not interfere with the day to day lives of the citizenry unless they want it too. With these laws churchs of all kinds and religions have opened up in the Imperium among the stronger religions in the Imperium are Shinzoanism and Seventh-Day Adventism.

Athiest!
-Rude Ruhrian Presbyturian Citizen
The government of DIDPAC would like to address this apparently ignorant citizen of Ruhr. Atheism is the denial of God or religion period. In the Xanthalian culture, its people have simply rid the nation of organized religion, making all religious existence simply personal and spiritual.

There are some religions that require organization. Many will be lost if there is no one leading them.

If you are talking about Christianity and Islam, that is simply not true. While organization is very fundamental to both religions, it is not required. Most churches in Christianity tend to stress a close personal relationship with God.

Freedom of Religion? Hardly!
You now have the complete Opposite of Freedom fo Religion. I say this, because those who still want to worship, now have no place to do it. Therefor freedom of Religion is non-existant there.
You should immediately set up a place of worship for every type of Religion. Then, and only then will your country have Freedom of Religion.

--Dr. Josef Gorden, PhD. Religion--Excuse me, but I meant religions like mormonism, with temples and a very important streuctural integrity. Religions that receive revelation that must be relayed to their members.

The Minister for Secularism in Edolia scoffs at the notion. Why should the government build churches for the people? That is nonsense. If there are not enough people in Xanthal who wish to practice their superstitions to build their houses of worship then there is no reason for the government to build them for them.
Exactly. Not only that, but it is not necessary for one to go to a certain building every week to believe in god(s). They can practice their beliefs at home.
The people of Xexo show pity, as you have thrown away God for secularist nonsense. Judgement shall rain down upon thee from the Holy Lord above.
Mocking the Christian religion is not reccomended, especially when you are also mocking us, who follow it.
We mock nothing. You have your beliefs, we have ours. Do not turn this into a conflict; you will lose.

He'll hammer you over the head with his massive post count. ;)
They make good projectiles too, thrown one or two at a time.
Aha, his post count must fear mine, i have cumulative 7000+ :P
Anyway, my point still stands, some religions require a gathering for worship at least once a week.
And what of youth programs? Or boy scouts? Are they forbidden?
Boy scouts? Youth programs? What are those? The Ministry of Education handles non-legal youth issues unless the Ministry of Social Affairs is involved.
I don't get christianity (or any religion to be frank) can someone explain?

The people of Gaeltach applaude this decision. Organized religion, while a good thing in its own regard, is an inherent hinderance to centralized government. When more people show up for weekend services than to vote, it should be clear that there is a problem. Your people will probably be much happier now.
So, theoretically, if Ruhrians from whatever time period you are in get citizenship to Xanthal...and they do set up a church...even if it means putting up a cardboard sheet on their door and taking marker and writing: CHURCH...
What would you do?

Mormonism is not a recognized religion in DIDPAC. Mormonism is pervertation of the Christian Bible, therefore considered a cult by many.
However, government officials pride themselves on the fact that they aren't so hypocritical as Xexo. Christianity teaches tolerance and acceptance, as do Islam and Judaism. Fundamentalists, like the government of Xexo, tend to strive to end the tolerance of other religions, or lack thereof.
The culture of Xanthal has changed. It is now "culturally acceptable" to ban churches. Therefore, Xanthal is not opressing it's own people. Further, it's people are oppressing themselves. They are pursuiting happiness, and if the ridding of organized religion makes them happy and is culturally and morally acceptable, then DIDPAC completely accepts and tolerates the nation of Xanthal.
Ruhr: What would we do? Nothing. The government of Xanthal assumes no responsibility or control over religious institutions unless they pose a threat. If your citizens immigrate and build a church we won't stop them, but they will probably be the only attendees.
