Her Majesty wishes to know the exact subject matter to be discussed at the convention. While Her Majesty would gladly send delegates to a serious discussion of sex and sexuality, Her Majesty considers it a waste of resources to send a delegation to an international orgy. It is the requirement of "sexiness" that causes Her Majesty's doubt about this convention's seriousness.

"Announcing, Her Royal Mahesty, Queen Calede of Frozen Ice and Her Ladyship, the Lady Consort of Frozen Ice, Lady Delionel!" A beautiful elven woman, with refined, ageless features and flowing, raven hair appears at the top of the ramp in a low cut, gorgeous gown of purple silk, studded with sparkling rubies and lined with gold, a jewel studded crown of silver on her head. On her arm, is an even more radiant elven beauty with blonde curls and sparkling eyes, in a gown of flowing black silk with sequines.

Calede frowns more deeply but glides up the the podium, speaking calmly. "We are here today to discuss sexuality and, in particular, what sexuality means for women. In the past, the sexuality of women has merely been a means to an end. It was either the means for the gratification of male sexual urges or the production of a male heir for a man. While male sexuality with other males was known, being alternately celebrated and condemned by various societies, the sexuality of women with women was viewed as virtually non-existent. After all, a woman's body had no reason for existence besides to satisfy the needs and desires of men. Of course, it is unlikely that female homosexuality didn't exist during this long period of darkness. It simply didn't exist for men. And men wrote the records. Thus, to humans, lesbianism often seems like something new, something distinctly modern. Not so to the elves. We are ancient, even by the standards of our people and we remember what the world was like centuries ago. Women loved women as frequently then as they do now. Such things were merely kept secret. And thus it is out distinct honor and privilege to open up a conference on one of the most ancient of human practices.

"While we are feminist in our convictions, we believe it would be wrong to equate lesbianism with feminism. Lesbianism no more implies a rejection of male superiority than heterosexuality implies an acceptance of it. The rejection of men in lesbianism is chromosonal, not political, in nature.

"It has been and shall remain our goal to create a world where relationships are based upon the passions of those involved in them, and not on the politics of gender and sexuality. It is with this goal in mind that we participare in this conference. Welcome."

She smiles radiantly after the brief address, never much for the long and windy.
