Metropolis Utopia, Isolationist People - It was announced today from the Council of Defense that the practice of torture will be allowed on certain 'high profile' individuals and cases. The Chairman of the Defense Council, Dominus Mark, greenlighted this proposal a couple of days ago. In a prepared statement released by the Chairman, he called the decision one that "needed to be made for us to adapt to the ever-changing world in which we live, in that we don't always know much about our enemies." The Council of the Empire, which encorperates all the Council's, has yet to met to discuss this issue, though that is expected to change in the coming days.

The Chairman declined to give specifics about when this practice would be used, saying only that "the government, acting in protection of the people, will determine who falls under the category at a later date." The Chairman hinted, though, that it could include captured soldiers, foreign agents and possibly criminals.

Requests for comments from the Preator have as yet been unanswered.
