On the modern battlefield, the use of armor in order to supplement troops is a key piece to victory. In order to further insure victory, the Imitoran government has contracted state owned Imitora Military Industires (IMI) to work with World Corp's military development branch to create a new possible tank to suplement the current M1A4 MBT.

Using cutting edge technology, the new tank, currently dubbed the XM5A1 Future Combat Vehicle, is hoped to be a dominating force on the battlefields of the world. The XM5A1 will have a new level of lethality and survivability not yet seen in combat.

At the moment, most plans are still confedential, however, some ideas being tossed around include two main cannons, a 130mm ETC powered cannon and a possible 80mm EM powered weapon. Currently, both Imitora Technical University in Luddock and The Universtiy of Imitora in Ausdon are competing for grants to build the main weapon, with Imitora Tech looking at a Rail design, and U of I looking at a possible gauss weapon.

Other plans include an external mounted hardpoint for a Stinger pod in order to deal with airborne threats, a mounted High Energy Laser to deal with anti tank guided missles, and other weapon systems to augment its survivability. World Corp will be working on the armor for the tank, as well as the 130mm ETC cannon.

Both IMI and World Corp will work together on the targeting systems, as well as an advanced suspension system, and other nessacery components.

The tank will be the epitome of modern design, using advanced technology and materials.

We have begun experimenting with new armor systems in order to protect this vehicle from future threats.

Profesor James Tannazzo, from the University of Imitora in Ausdon, has submitted his report on the Guas Weapon designed by his team:

Using larger military grade energy base and capacitators, my team has been able to propell a 90mm solid tungston round at a speed of 8km/sec. Penatration acheived was 3 feet of solid steel, and managed to punch clear through the frontal and side armor of a M1A4 MBT. The idea we have come up with is to place an explosive charge in the tungston round, and have it detonate inside the target tank. So far, our only problem as been a difficulty in keeping the gun cool during repetative firing.

RE: M5A1 assistance

We have reviewed your offer, and may take you up on it. While we and the World Corp head have seemed to come to a general agreement on the weapons production, any assistance which you may be able to lend in the direction of the tank's physical armor will be greatly accepted. Thank you for taking intrest in the project. Respectfully

Dr. Matt VanHoven
