0634. Too damn early. Namir is awake, but not really. He's supposed to go for his Rejuv therapy today, but he plans to take the day off instead. He has plans.
0712. Stll too early. Especially when you're 387 years old, Namir thought. He knew, however, that his time was coming, and soon. He now had the appearance of a man three hundred years his junior, and that ment that the Rejuv was failing. He didn't have much time left. And he still had things to do.
0841. Not quite so early. Namir meets with his advisors, and he is told of the recent reports of 01 aggression, this time againts another unknown inferior foreign power in the Middle East. Namir is troubled by the news, and mutters about how he should have stood up to those bastards years ago.
0900. During a coffee break from the morning caucus meeting, Namir decides that he shouldn't leave the problem to his successor. After teh break, he announces his plan to the assembeled staff - he plans to whipe Roania off the face of the Earth.
0917. Having dismissed his staff, Namir contacts the Lord Castellan, the head of the General's Council. He orders his to prepare for full scale air and orbital strikes against 01 and its holdings, and to begin calling up reservists to keep the homeland safe. He also suggested that the colonies be put under lockdown for awhile, and the fleets kept on close patrols.
1020. The entire 8th Air Wing is mobile, and carrying out pre-flight drills while their craft are being loaded. Eight hundred Vulture VTOL attack craft are being loaded, while nearly twice that many Thunderbolt fighter-bombers are being fueled, and their takeoff's schedualled. Six different airbases are alive with activity, while in orbit still more Thunderbolts are being made ready in the hangers of the assembeled war fleet. A full dozen Omega destroyers had been scrambeled, with an attendant escort of three heavy cruisers and ten corvettes.
1030. The first takeoff. Flight groups travel in every direction, with the intent on coming in from multiple vectors and straining the air defence. Above them, the Joint Naval Task Force, JNTF, moves into position to launch orbital ballistic missiles and fighters down onto the Roania mainland.
1044. The first strike is three hours away from their tarets. The aim of the first wave is to knock out radar and communication. The second wave, the 12th Air Wing, also starts getting ready to take off, with their munitions destined for 01 bridges, highways, and power plants. The JNTF strike forces are order to hit the same obvious targets as their nearly blind-firing motherships - the central city spire itself.
1100. Namir goes live on-air to declare a state of war and emergency. He urges the populace to remain calm, and either sign up for, or help the reserve forces currently being activated throughout the nation. War was upon them.
1112. Namir signs a declaration of war. Unbeknownst to him, many historians would later state this this document would double as his death warrant.
OOC: What next, MU killing off Morgoth? Siri commiting the happy dispatch?
Or am I reading too deeply into the title?

(Naw, changed it. The Legand [now madman] is Namir, the aging Governor.)
1149. Namir sends a personal message to the Head of the 01 state, demanding that unless a full unconditional surrender is in Namir's hands within two standard hours, 01 would be set ablaze. The first strike wave was two and half hours away, and the JNTF was ready to strike at will. More ships were being assembeled at Gammack base, and they were due to arrive in twelve hours. A full divison of twenty destroyers were coming, and they were a threat not to be taken lightly.
1200. Namir has lunch. The City Guard Infantry and APU Corps begin digging in around the principle cities of the Union, and regiments of armour and infantry are despersed to defend other key positions. The Defence Grid is also brought online, with the shore, AA and AO batteries all clamouring to life accross the vast nation. If it was to be a war, it would be a total war, one whose end none could possibly forsee.
Suprised was the best word to describe the thoughts of the Council as the inbound attackers were spotted. Shocked was too strong however; they had all long been prepared for an attack, even though the days of a paranoid UniNode were well behind them. Hundreds of aircraft, coming from north and south and east. The defences sprang to life after a mere thought by the Defence Node Councellor, while the underground Sentinel warrens became a buzz of activity as the counter-attack was being formulated. The plan was to first hit the military bases of the Pakistan province with the Sentinels, while the heavier Harvestors hit the cities. Then, the attacks would spread to the other provinces, untill every human had either fled or been killed.
The humans had no idea what was coming.
As the attack craft loomed on the horizon, the ancient defence network began computng firing solutions. After a second or two of thought, hundreds of rarely used cannons aimed up into the sky, and made ready to fire. From their barrels, thousands of Screamer homing bombs were ready to be loosed at the invaders. The fleet in orbit had been spotted, and so several massive anti-orbital cannons were elevated into position. Shells the size of cars were hauled into their breaches, while dozens of smaller energy-gun turrets prepared for incoming missiles and bombs that might elude the primary grid.
Nothing but pure mechanical percision.

1420: The deadline had come and gone without word. Namir gave the go-ahead to all strike units. The war was about to begin.
1426: The 01 defences opened fire. Hundreds of small coiled up drones were shot at the incoming fleet, and as they approached, they uncoiled and started homing in on specific targets. They were met with salvos of anti-air missiles and pulse gun fire, but for every one shot down, two more appeared on their screens. It quickly became apparent that they were in serious trouble, as it would still be another four minutes untill they reached their launch points, and the hostiles were gaining ground, so to say.
1430: Though the lead squads had met their ends as the first of the screaming missile-bombs slammed into them, most had survived to launch their own missiles. Thousands of them leaped out at the city beyond, while from above, more fighters came diving down from orbit at near vertical angles to get clear shots at the city. They saw the great cannons start firing at their ships in orbit, but no traces of anti-aircraft fire or flak was yet seen.
Like clockwork, the energry cannons streaked tracer fire out into the hazy sky, while flak cannons fired explosive rounds set to burt at predetermined altitudes. The shells contained clouds of ferrous metals and chemicals, designed to obscure and confuse EM scanners and targeting systems, as well as causing some nasty shrapnel damage to the decending planes. The grand cannons continued lobbnig massive shells high into orbit, while the Screamers continued to do their job destroying both the Air Force planes and missiles. So many had been fired that they nearly blocked the view of the city from the perspective of the rapidly retreating Indiastanii pilots. As the orbital fighters continue their decent, they are met with an unpleasent suprise. Dozens of Sentinels are rising to meet them, and they did not look happy. It didn't take the pilots long to igure out that their mission had quickly become one of suicide.

High overhead, in an orbit outside the Indiastani fleets, satellites whirled about.
HA3067, HA9876-HA9884, and HA0234 moved into position over Arabia, watching the offensive with peircing electronic eyes, in all spectra.
Twelve more Hen-angainor satellites wheeled into position above United Indiastan, watching, waiting, to watch the defense that would surely be needed soon. After all, 01 would not sit idle, of this Intelligence was sure.
OOC: Since you asked.... <tag>
Once the first missiles hit the outer parts of the city, something appears to spring to life from what was thought to be a open-pit mineshaft. as seen from the spy satallites that no doubt watched the battle silently from orbit, tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands of small metallic specks emerged in a huge cloud. Around them, thousands of large dome-constructs which were thought to be buildings became airborne, trailing large snake-like appendages underneith. Another cloud of specks emerged, and then another, then another. They all seemed to be heading in one direction. East. To Indiastan.

"What the HELL is going on there? Have they gone mad?"
"Well... probably yes..."
Heinrich looked at his secretary in disgust. One thing was for sure: He didnĀ“t like it. He didn`t like it at all.
Indiastan was critical for DA. Telepath immigration, Human immigration in general...
"Follow the events, carefully. If Indiastan is about to loose, we offer our help. Either, to keep them, or to evacuate as many teeps, and perhaps even normals, as possible."
"Will do."
The secretary left, leaving Heinrich alone. He stood there, at the window, watching the storm rushing through the city...
A sad day... as all the days...

ooc: considering your ooc plans, i assume you will deny direct help... will need to make contact to whatever your teep organisation was.

1445: The pilots knew they were doomed. The bombs just came too fast, even when they were being shot down. They knew as their craft came about, several second would go by for the things to catch up. Even then, the Vulture pilots knew they couldn't outrun them. The Thunderbolt crews held out hope, but even they had doubts. Going full throttle all the way home would probably leave them out of fuel somewhere out over the ocean. This was the end.
1446: Deep inside the Centeral Command Complex, Namir and his staff's collective jaws dropped when they saw the near instant mobilization of the 01 army. They calculated their present time to arrival at being two days, and promptly proceeded to panic. They had estimated three days to full mobilzation and launch of a counter attack, on top of the two days it would take them to get to Indiastan. They guessed wrong, and knew that they'd pay for it.
1452: The Military Governance Council reccommends that all units be pulled back into the cities, to protect those cizilians who now could no longer get out. This ment the abandonment of all strategic objectives, such as the various powerplants and hydro dams. They felt that the machines would not bother attacking such things, but would go straight for the cities, held only by the reserves garrison and APU Corps. All armoured, mechanized, and infantry untis were to hole up in the cities, as fast as possible. They figured that they could almost double the defences of the outlying Pakistanii cities, which would buy the rest of the nation enough time to organize a far stronger defence, as well as allow more civillians to evacuate. They knew that this was not going to be pleasent.
Death. Destruction. These are what the machines brought to Indiastan. The province of Pakistan was the first to be attacked, the first to fall. Most of the province was in fact ignored; only the population centers mattered. Hyderabad in the south and Islamabad in the north were to be encircled first, prior to their destruction.
They knew that this was where the most resistance would be located, and so they decided that these cities had to fall - to break the spirit of the defenders of the other cities. A quick victory in either of the first battles could mean a quick war, if they were fortunate.
Ironicly, the weather was terrible. Rain and high winds only lowered the moral of the humans. It was all too easy...

Thursday, November 17th, 2249. Islamabad, United Indiastan
0620. Personal log, 2nd-Leuitenant Muhammad Jinnas, 2nd APU Divison, Islamabad.
"Death is coming. The machines have cut off all of the roads in and out of the city, and right now are doing rings around the city outside of our range. They seemed to form up in a big swarm, and just fly around, almost as if to tease us. There are thousands of them, but the with the weather we can't get a good count. The bigger ones are almost in range, and they don't look like they're gonna slow down... Anyway, we've set up AA positions on every rooftop that we can, and put up barricades around the downtown core. Colonel says we've got five thousand regulars, a tank divison, seven thousand City Guard milita, and four APU divisons. However, he dosen't think its enough, and has called in for as much support from the Air Force as they'll send. Says that they might not get much, as a lot was lost attacking the damn machines. Still, we're going to do out best to hold, if we can."
0630. The simaltanious attack on both Hyderabad and Islamabad begins. Tens, if not hundreds of thousands of Sentinels swarm into the cities, As the wave of Harvestors pass over above, grabing anything that the Sentinels missed. It was obvious that the defenders couldn't hold, but they knew they had to for as long as they could.
An explosion is heard behind Jinnas, as he and his squad holds part of a residental block from the advance of the machines. The narrow vision slit in his APU are largely useless, with the rains obscuring his view. This dosen't matter. The targetting computer in the dashboard tells him where the hostiles are, and thats all he cares about. The cockpit is shaking violently now, as both of the thirty millimeter cannons are going at top speed. A flight of Sentinels goes flying overhead, and their guns spit death at eight hundred rounds per minute. A few dozen fall out of the speeding swarm, but just as many live ones turn and come tearing down on them. *Clang!* The whole mech shakes from the impact as a squiddy lands on top of him. The gun arms can't reach it, so all he can do his keep firing on the swarm. "AHH!" he yelled as he depressed the triggers to full, firing on full automatic into the mechancal nightmares that were destroying his home. As he yelled, one of the beasts large red eyes came level with the vision slit, and Jinnas came face to face with the enemy. Their gazes met for only a few seconds before the Sentinel's cutting laser tor into the cockpit, and the powerfull hind limbs of the artifical construct tore the front open. Still firing, Jinnas was torn apart as six limbs reached in and pulled the frail human in several different directions.
All over the city, this same thing was happening. The pulse-cannon AA crews were the first to go, as the Harvestors plucked them up off the rooftops, only to crush their miniscule forms in their massive claws. The tanks were sitting ducks, and if they hadn't been paried with APU squads, most would have been lost in the first half hour. Every, the machines turn the men back, killing them at will. Nothing seemed to stop them....
