Noted Astronomer Carl Saganminnow announced today that the recently constructed SilveryMinnow Observatory telescope was powerful enough to view Uranus.

"This is a great step forward for the Astronomers of SilveryMinnow," noted Saganminnow, "For the First time we will be able to clearly see the surface of Uranus. From what we are able to see initially, the surface is very polluted and there is a enormous crater in the center of Uranus. We will of course be sending all of our gathered data to the U.N. as they have been seeking to relocate to a site in Uranus."

A small Radio Satellite launched Years ago in the form of a Soda Bottle shaped Rocket, reached it's destination of Uranus. Something went wrong and it's orbit decayed sending the Satellite into the corrosive atmosphere of Uranus, where it was destroyed.

"This is unfortunate," said Dr. Fizzywinks, "we had hoped to be able to by bouncing Radio waves of the surface, it would determine just how large Uranus might be. We are undaunted though, and will send a second probe that will not only be capable of transmissions, but will carry a small gerbil to Uranus. This will allow us to monitor the effects that prolonged space travel would have on a creature from this planet."

Update: COMET SCOURS URANUS!

"It was the most fantastic thing I've ever seen!" Exclaimed Observatory Astronomy Professor Lemmiwink. "We were just looking at Uranus, when suddenly BLAM!!! A big comet slams into Uranus, igniting the whole planet like a match. There must be a unusual amount of sulfates, nitrates, and oxygen frozen into the surface of Uranus, and before the comet hit, Uranus probably smelled pretty bad. We intend to continue watching the effects of the Comet on Uranus, and at this time can state that the whole of Uranus is on fire."
