In recent Years the people of Tor Yvresse-Mars have been moving towards a greater degree of Democratic Freedoms, a state we have been encoraging, and moving, now we have decided to take it a stage further From this Day Forth the Domestic Policy of our Martian Colony shall be determined by it's citizens in an open election. It's foreign and defence policys shall remain under the Farseer Council of course, but everything else including it's Economic situation shall be in it's citizens hands.
The first elections for the new Parliament shall be held shortly, and new parties have formed for the event, we will be asking that a nation with a long history of Democracy sends adivsors to help us in this process as we have little experiance in running such events.
Still the initial Parties that are standing are as follows.
The Farseer Party.
Formed in a large from the Eldar sections of the Community this party has a promising future, able to claim the vast majority of the Eldar Vote. It's stated policy aims are a continuation of the status quo and policys initiated by the Farseer of Mars. And to follow the will of the Farseers when expressed even in domestic matters.
Martian Marx Party
A Drastic change in direction this admittadly small but growing faction is formed from those that follow the teachings of Marx. Stating that they are rejecting the notion of of establishing some form of Stalinst state, they seek to end Capitalism within the running of the Martian Colony.
Mel-shaith
A Loose coalition of smaller interests this group also hopes to continue with the status Quo with regards to Economic policys, however it is split on several matters of Social care, still it is thought that this alliance could along with the Farseer Party take the Polls having similar positions overall with the Party.
Martian Independence Party.
Little more than a Joke a few extremists hold power within this party, rumours speak of it being infiltrated throughout by members of the Colonial and Protectorate Internal Security Forces, but no evidence has ever been found as to this being the case.
More may come forward before the start of the election, and candiates for the elections have yet to be anouced.
((OOC If you want to add a party feel free basically a Note on TVM we have several different Species living in the colony but with the exception of the Farseer Party, I don't want Race Parties but Parties with definate Agendas. The Farseer Party is the exception due to the simple fact that Eldar are not good with Democracy and trust the will of the Farseer massivly.))
The nation of Pilon intends to personally back the Farseer Party and will contribute funds to their capaigns. Of all of the major parties it is the one Pilon would most like to see in power.
Menelmacar

Clicky-clicky!
King Frederick I sat in counsel with his nobility, his advisers. The newly signed 'New Divine Right of Royalty' had recently been put into practice within Royalist Paradise and 'few' people had resented it. He spoke; his voice deep, old and full of pride for himself.
"It is atrocious, no Royalist Party is taking part in the Tor-Yvresse Mars elections. Therefore, I propose fully that we give our endorsement to local royalists. We shall have to negotiate some policies; seperatism in regard to Tor-Yvresse, a royal line to be chosen by the local people, ratification of their own 'Divine Right of Royalty', strong leadership, local business economy; that kind of thing."
The nobles, obviously 'yes' men of some sort, clapped and murmured with approval. It was to be a short meeting....
Having enjoyed good relations with the Farseer Council in the past, the Empire of Valinon will support the Farseer Party. Although we will not interfere in these free elections in anyway. We also believe that the platform of the Mel-shaith Party has merit as well. The Empire will follow these matters on Mars very closely.
Sincerely,
Count Viktor Leopold
First Minister for His Majesty's Foreign Affairs
The Empire of Akilliam will endorse the Farseer Party in this matter; our past cooperation with the Farseer Council has proven warm, cordial, and mutually beneficial.
However, the Empire will express its dissatisfaction if the Marxist Party should - and it would boggle the mind - be victorious in these elections. We know the Marxists to be violent revolutionaries, the very dredges of society. We must emphasize the need for a stable Tor Yvresse Mars, not one torn to pieces by Marxist-stupidity.
Yours in Peace,

A response from the Marxist Party
'We have never expressed nor supported any form of violent revolution, the collapse of Capitalism shall occur due to the inherent struggle that forms a part of it's very being. The struggle between the Bourgois and the Worker, that at it's heart shall rend the very structure of the system apart, it is the role of the party to continue to shape the social conscious of the people in the direction that they need to go.
At it's heart we support a Democratic and free peoples, one where equality is guarenteed to all and one where we do not alienate the people, one where the fetish nature of society is ripped away.'
Response from the Farseer Party.
We welocme the support that has been shown to us, we shall promise to uphold the principles with which the Council founded this colony and in which it has thrived and grown within Mars. The Wisdom of the Farseer of Mars has allowed us to grow and overcome great adversity, and if we trust in his Wisdom we shall continue to grow.
Mel-shaith Party Response.
although the Farseer Party is correct in it's position that the basic principles of the Colony are ones we must struggle to uphold we have seen several areas in which, with all due respect Darvins has been mistaken, in this regards we will therefore while upholding the general spirit not be afraid to go our own way, we must be willing to have confidence in ourselves, to become a more vital and vibrent part of the Greater whole.
To Royalist Paradise
OOC Feel free to create the basic teneants of the Royalist Party it sounds a very interesting angle...
I look forward to seeing them))
we're still going to support the Farseers
Capitalism might collapse on a local level, perhaps a handful of nations at best. But the whole survives, and eventually the rest return to their previous state. Capitalism can not collapse as a whole; not now, not ever. Capitalism has two purposes, and only two; to make money, and to survive. When a beast only knows its survival instinct, it is indeed a very difficult beast to kill. But because Capitalism is more than one animal, it is a web, a network of interlinking systems that work - to some extent - for the good of the whole.
The Marxist and Communist speak of equallity, and the Workers. Have they not heard of Unions, or Trade Guilds? There are ways to protect the workers from the 'capitalist pigs' as you would call us. Workers, proles if you will, make up the back bone of any sturdy economy. To forsake the workers is to collapse the economy - the worst nightmare of any Capitalist. You see, the Workers are actually in a position of power, even in a Capitalist regime; if you strike, we no longer make money and eventually we must capitulate [Ruhr crisis, 1923].
Equallity, however, is just a dream. All men are not created equally. Some desire work greatly, and will work until the day they day, proud to have the honor of calling themselves workers. Others are just inexcusably lazy. Communism or Marxism doesn't take this into account. Not all people are the same. Some have ambition, some do not. Some have unorthodox thinking, most do not. Capitalism allows those who will succeed to succeed, those who will fail to fail; Communism inhibits this. That, perhaps above all else, is why Capitalism will always triumph, while Communism or Marxism will be pounded into dust.
It is really that simple. Finally, allow me to add this one bit; if the Marxist Party does somehow win, the Empire of Akilliam will no longer affiliate itself with Tor Yvresse Mars until such time as the Marxists are out of office and sanity has been restored. It is unfortunate that we must take this approach, but the Empire has vowed to combat any form of Communism anywhere - even among friends and allies... and Tor Yvresse Mars will not be a friend as long as the Marxists, potentially, control the Government.
Yours in Peace,
Senator Aelius
The Ctan

[Meeting of the 'Privalidged,' Confederacy of the C'tan, Vojislav Mountain Installation.]
There were about twenty of them, drawn from the elite of the nation, or placed there. They were what every conspiracy theorist whacko drempt about discovering, a genuine government-alien conspiracy. Arranged around the sides of the wall were skeletal machines, necrons.
The Privalidged formed the leaders of the tiny percentage of the population of the Confederacy who knew about the conspiracy.
One of them, Supreme Director Klaus De Vere, head of the Internal Security Agency, was speaking; "I still say that the Martian Independance party is too great a risk. All the evidence suggests that it is riddled with Eldar agents."
As another prepared a rebuttal, the entity at the head of the table cut her off. "I agree. Our best chance of limiting their influence is the marxists."
"Marxists are fools, we all know this!" the woman interjected.
"Yes, they are, this is the point. The marxists would cause, disunity, among the Eldar and their allies," the alien creature, known to the Eldar as the Jackal God, replied.
"So, we clandistinely fund the Marxists, while publically supporting the Farseers?" asked the first man.
"No, leave the clandestine funding to me, my means would be less traceable, no offence to your prodigious skill. Instead, I want you to arrange public statements endorsing and some token donations to the Farseers," the creature, a golden humanoid, continued, "And now ladies and gentlemen, our next issue, Pavonis."
