The Founding (RP)

Five Civilized Nations

OOC: This is a medieval/fantasy RP, that is related to the founding of my nation... All are welcome to join...

OE or Old Era is before the Civil War... NE or Neo Era is after... and CE or Civil Era is during the Civil War.

The year was 900 Old Era... The Land known now as the Five Civilized Nations, was once part of the Aza Empire, which survived for more than nine centuries. The Aza Empire were founded by the first of the Dragonlords, Azara Pelast. From then on the Aza Empire incorporated the five disparate groups living in the area, the humans, led always by the Duke of Cala, the dwarves, led by the Mountain Kings, the Elves, led by the Duke of the March, the Orcs, led by the Warchiefs, and the Dragons, led by the Dragonlords... Tensions between the groups were kept to a minimal for 9 centuries. But with the death of the last of the Dragonlords, Azal Talas, everything changed. For centuries, the dragonlords had kept the peace of the lands, but with the death of the last one, the Orcs went on a murderous rampage, attacking the humans, dwarves, and elves of the Aza Empire. This was the destructive Civil War that would create the Five Civilized Nations...

The Orcs slaughtered the elves, creating a massive exodus out of the area, fleeing towards the lands of the Blood Elves. The dwarves retreated to their mountain and subterrean strongholds and created the Kingdom of Khaz Modan. The Duke of Cala, Lance Crusade, led the remnants of the humans retreated to the Northlands, leaving the Forbidden Lands, the Borderlands, the Shadowlands, and the Deserts to the Orcs. The Orcs led by the Warchief Tolar Hellscream created the Empire of the Burning Blades, slaughtering and killing throughout the once fair lands... Allied with the Centaurs of the Forbidden Lands, once excluded from the Aza Empire, the Orcs began to march into the mountain and subterrean strongholds of the dwarves and the Northlands of the humans.

The Duke of Cala, seeing the situation growing exceedingly dire, managed to forge an alliance with the last of the dragons and the dwarven kingdom of Khaz Modan, began to fight back against the Orcs... But the war was only beginning...

Prince Kael'thas groans in anger... The things occuring in the remains of the Aza Empire (Five Civilized Nations) was making things increasingly difficult for the newly established Blood Elven Nation. Elven refugees were streaming in from the war-torn region. Prince Kael'thas had already dispatched 5000 swordsmen to protect the border against any attacks from the Orcish and Centaur Alliance in the remnants of the Aza Empire...

The Dwarven Mountain King of Khaz Modan, Morian Stormrage, was leading a desperate defense of the one of last dwarven subterrean cities, Khaz Khan. With 2000 Dwarven fighters, he had held off a massive army of some 10,000 Orcs and 700 Centaurs. Already, many Dwarves had fallen to the onslaught. But the Dwarves gave better than they got, killing three times the number they lost. Morian Stormrage knew that Khaz Khan would be lost, if his allies did not come to assist. Morian hoped that the Dragons and the Humans would come and provide assistance.

OOC: You can control the Dwarves if you want... They live in the Dragon Mountains, a massive mountain range that spans the entire country. In addition, their main cities are subterrean. Their capital of Khaz Khan is being overrun by orcs...

OOC: alright, here's my starting psot.

James Ennis was not a happy man. When his fellow humans had reatreated to the Northlands, him and his force were cut off. They had foughyt a hit-and-run war since then, trying to break through the Orc lines to reach the Northlands. But they only had 5,000 men, and could not, so they tried to go around by hiking near the Dragon Mountains. And now this. They had come across an entrance into the mountain. Knowing it would be Dwarven, and in desperate need of help, James had led his men underground. Only to find a city under attack, the Dwarven defenders being overrun. James thought about what to do next.

"Come on men! We must help our allies! Charge!"

James leads his force in an attack on the rear of the Orc/Centaur force.

The lines of Orcs steadily approached Khaz Khan. Origin Doomhammer looked at his Dwarven Warriors. Armed with Swords, Battle Axes, and War hammers they were brilliant and deadly foes, but the orcs seemed to many.
Unless help broke through their lines soon all would be lost.

Inside of the Citadel in Cala City, the servants of the castle bustled about. Inside the throne room, the Duke of Cala, Lance Crusade, sat atop the throne reading the latest news of the conflict. Twenty guards stood stiffly in the room defending the room and the Duke. Lance groaned at the increasing bad news that had been brought to him. The Orcs and the Centaurs had penetrated deep into Northlands, sacking and plundering of the nearby seaside city of Culhaven. An Orcish Blademaster had led his followers in slaughtering the survivors of the city, executing the more than 214,891 survivors in the city. In addition, news was also received about Orcish and Centaur raiding parties went as far north as the outskirts of the city of Tolaron. Lance sighed as he thought about ways to stop the Orcs and the Centaurs. Sighing again deeply, Lance ordered a page to summon his councilors to think of a way to stop the enemies. Moments later, the massive doors of the throne room swung open, and four scholars along with four commanders walked into the throne room and bowed to the Duke, the doors closing behind them. Lance threw the latest news to their feet. “Have you read the latest news? I have followed your advice, but nothing good has come of it…”

Suddenly the doors are thrown open again as an aging cloaked man, with his features shrouded by a hood and a long gray beard strolled into the room. The two guards standing near the doors immediately leapt and surrounded the cloaked man. Lance curious about the man’s presence, waved his hand ordering the guards to release the man and signaled for the man to come closer. The man walked closer and pulled back the hood revealing a hard strong face with piercing green eyes and a shock of red hair. Lance and his adviser all gaped in shock at the presence of the man, who was the immortal mystic that was watching over the lands.

The man held up his hand to stifle any questions. In a raspy voice the old man began to speak. “Ah… Duke of Cala, I see that you are well… I have information that you will find very useful. Useful enough for you to defeat the Orcish and Centaur Hordes.”

In disbelief and anger, Lance stood up and with his voice full of venom replied, “You are the Mystic of Mount Storm Peak, you have never helped me before, why are you helping me now?” Gesturing for the guards, Lance signaled for the guards to take the mystic out of his presence.

The mystic held up his hands again and gazed at Lance. Unsettled by the mystic’s piercing gaze, Lance collapsed onto the Mahogany Throne. The mystic began to speak again, “Lance Crusade, the only salvation for your people is to seek out the Citadel of the Dragonlords in the Dragon Mountains. You must seek out the last surviving follower of the last Dragonlord. He will be your only hope, your only salvation.” After he finished, the mystic transformed into a black raven and flew out the window.

The Duke of Cala stood up in shock at the mystic’s message and at the mystic’s sudden departure. In shock, Lance collapsed once again onto the Mahogany Throne. Lance began to mutter to himself, “Why? Why? I have so many questions, but no answers.” Lance finally made his decision, “I will go on this quest. I will go to seek the road to salvation that the mystic has prophesied…”

One of the scholars stepped forth and bowed. “My liege, you must not listen to the words of that mad man. If you do, the fate of our people will be sealed. I plead, my liege, that you do not go off some doubtful quest…”

Lance stood and straightened to his full height and silenced the man. “My mind has been made up. Nothing any of you say will change that decision,” and began to make assignments to the military commanders, “The lords Amazi Delaz and Acton Trafalg, you will command the defenses of this city. The lords Fandwick Armand and Ginnission Bright take command of the fleet in the Northern Sea…” Then turning to the scholars, “You civilian advisers will assist the lords Delaz and Trafalg in the defense of this city.” Standing up, Lance Crusade strolled out of throne room to prepare for his search for salvation.

Stepping out of the throne room, Lance walked straight into his Captain of the Guards, Shi Jin. The two tripped over each other. Shi Jin in shock stood up and helped the Duke up, wiping the dust away. Shi Jin bowed his head in shame. “I am sorry, my liege, for causing this.” Lance gestured for Shi Jin to stop talking.

“Shi Jin, prepare five fighters… We depart at dawn.”

“Yes, my liege.”

The Duke of Cala strolled into the courtyard of the castle and drew his famed Cala Sword to practice and prepare for the upcoming journey. Lance Crusade had been taught by the legendary Master of Mount Mirror, Noventa Kazansky his fighting skills. He had learned from Master Kazansky the powerful Mirror Sword Skill and the Infinity Swords Technique along with many other secret techniques and figting styles unique to Mount Mirror. Although there were other great master fighters in the former Aza Empire, Lance revered Master Kazansky greatly.

Lance began to practice, swishing his sword back and forth. Weary of this practice, Lance leapt into the air and began to practice the powerful moves of the Mirror Sword Skill. Finally after a long three hours practice, and pleased with his efforts, Lance landed on the ground and sheathed his sword.

The next day, Lance quickly dressed and walked into the courtyard and found a massive airship being prepared for the journey. The Captain of the Guard, Shi Jin, who was organizing the expedition, saw the Duke gazing at the airship, walked over, and bowed. "My liege, the preparations are ready. This airship is the Errant Dreamer, commanded by Captain Fang Yue. This is the vessel that will take you to the Citadel of the Dragonlords," turning to a short man wearing a black martial-arts suit standing nearby, Shi Jin called to him, "Captain Fang Yue, the Duke would like to see you."

Fang Yue turned around, walked over, and also bowed. "My liege, I am Captain Fang Yue. I will command this airship that will take my liege to the Dragon Mountains."

Lance acknowledged with his nod and dismissed him back to his work with a wave of his hand. Lance walked all around the airship, inspecting it. Happy with what he saw, a smile slowly spread across Lance's features. As he continued to stroll around, a pair of Orcish mage-assassins using powerful magic blasted a whole in the castle wall. Four guards were hurt by the explosion. Two other guards who tried to stop the Orcs were killed. Lance drew his Cala Sword, gesturing towards his men to leave the Orcs for him, Lance raced towards the two Orcs, his sword raised above his head. Using the 5th Technique of the Mirror Sword Skill, the Road of Illusions, to stop the Orcs, Lance lowered his sword and created illusions that sprang up all around the two Orcs. The Orcs tried to attack the illusions, but to no avail. Realizing that they were attacking illusions, the two Orcs dispelled the illusions and turned around trying to find their target, the Duke of Cala. But Lance was above them. Using the powerful 50th Technique of the Mirror Sword Skill, Solar Blast, a powerful beam of energy erupted out of the sword straight at the Orcs. After the light disappeared, the Orcs had been burned to a crisp.

Satisfied, Lance dropped back to the ground and sheathed his sword. Captain Shi Jin bowed in front of Lance and began to introduce the five handpicked fighters that he had selected. One by one the fighters were presented, Thomas Lafayette, Venture Brahms, Timothy Allard, Duncan Allaras, and Amadeus Cain. Acknowledging the five fighters, Lance signaled for them to follow him. Lance boarded the airship, followed by his five men. The last of the supplies, equipment, and replacement parts were loaded aboard the airship. Captain Fang Yue, satisfied with the process, boarded the ship and signaled the ground crew to launch the ship.

Moments later, the airship rose into the air and began to fly south towards the Dragon Mountains, beginning Lance's fateful and desperate quest for the salvation of his people.
