We, the people of the Anderton Mountain ranges, are hereby declaring Independence from the nations Your Nickname (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=your_nickname) and The Opressive Church! (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=the_opressive_church)
Too long we have not been represented in either government!
Too long we have been pushed aside, and bargained with by each government!
Too long we have been forced under the nonsense religion of the Opressive Church, and the strict worthless Morality of Your Nickname!
The people of the Anderton Mountains, which both nations have taken for garnet for too many years, are now independent!
The Proclaimed Liberator and Emancipator of the Nomadic Peoples of the Anderton Mountains, Victoria Dernswood.
OOC: Brief (not really actually...) description about Anderton Mountains: On Isle De Sargenti Alamode, there's a long mountain range in the south of the island. To the east of the Mountains (Present Day Your Nickname territory) lies a land covered in lakes and rivers, creating a lush delta. To the West (present day The Opressive Church territory) there's a vast flat plane. To the North, the isle reaches twists north, (and that is now present day Pro Capitalists and Overopinionation) Anderton Mountains make up the border between Your Nickname and the Opressive Church. Since the mountains are constantly ceded between the two governments, they were not represented in either. They weren't even allowed a Bishop in the Opressive Church's clergy. The Mountains are full of Minerals, Oil, Precious Metals, and assorted stones such as Marble and Alabaster. These amazingly rich mountain's nomadic people were first occupied by the Johnston Govenorship, the first settlers government, three hundred years ago. That government crumbled, and factioned into three nations, Overopinionation, Pro Capitalists, and Your Nickname. The Anderton Mountains remained unclaimed by any of these nations, and the Nomadic people of the mountains were at peace as were the rural pacifist villages and towns west of the mountains. But then the Church came. The Opressive Church, a branch of Catholicism, which built it's religion's base in the southwestern part of the Isle, in the Pacifistic villages of the nomadic people of the Isle. After the church came, a race among the four nations on the island was on. It was a race to colonize and claim every part of the island. The Isle was divided up quickly, the Anderton Mountains were divided exactly in half between Your Nickname and The Opressive Church. Since then, parts have been given or ceded back and forth, creating a constant state of instability. The people of both nations took advantage of the Mountain Nomads, up until today, when they declared their independence!
Brief history of The Proclaimed Liberator and Emancipator of the Nomadic Peoples of the Anderton Mountains, Victoria Dernswood: She was born in the Capital of Your Nickname, from a Politician Father, and a Nomadic Mother. Her father met her mother on a hunting expedition in the Mountains. They married, and Victoria's Mother become refined and a proper wife of a Politician. But Victoria's mother always told her stories of how wonderful the mountains were. The stories fascinated her, and after she was Collage Educated at some of the finest schools her parents could afford, she went on expeditions of her own into the Anderton Mountains. Soon she saw the oppression and desperation among the Nomads. She did her best to help them, and after so many years of doing so it lead her to her current situation, of declaring their independence. She just can't bare to see them suffer...
