After a long time and days worth of thinking, Im dropping all my space tech. The fact is, I realize now that most space tech is crap, and while some do RP it well, I dont. I mean, the only reason I did use it is that Im horrible at logistics (Im bad with numbers. ITs a learning disablity. I can read a Clany novel in two days and remeber it word for word, and agrgue law and politics with the best of them, but once numbers get thrown in, I just go blah and walk away). Im not gonna sell off my space fleets, Im just gonna go on as if they werent there. FOr all of you who have space tech that I gave you or helped you with or what not, its your call if you want to keep it or not, Im not gaoona say anything.

Im also dropping my 'power armor'. Even though it was hardly power armor, as it still had the sme weakneses of regular body armor, only it looked cool. Power armor removes all the fun out of war and a good tactical situation. While I could out tactic an enemy, if he has power armor and all I got are M4s, it just dont matter anymore. I also realize how much of a space wanker I was. Christ, what was I thinking having a space fleet of 115 Frigates, 30 cruisers, and three carriers (even though the carriers were the largest ship and only about half a kilo long). Even if they were low tech by comparrison of everyone else star ships, they were still very space wankish.

Now, does this mean that I will join the ranks of the modern tech world with their plain jane Jets and stuff? No, I'll still be using most of my own tech, which is all based on current, semi-futuristic Tech. Like teh Yellow Jackets, Sea Spearows, and other things. I'll be working on rail and gauss weaponry, but my tanks will have ETC guns at the most, no Rail and Gauss tanks. So, for all of you who dont like this, bite me. FOr all of you who do (which I woulnt know why, but still) cool. That is all

About tanks with ETC guns... It is still a bit futureistic (e.g. 2010-era).

I find it irritating how you scrutinize it. What do you think is going to come? Are we going to be using cannons in 21,345 C.E?

Imitora, yes, it's all good and wonderful how you've chosen to omit it. That's fine. If that's what you feel was best... hey, go for it.

No its not you, its alot of things. The only ANH part responsible is teh destruction of Deazeman. If I hadnt been an ass and just vaped his country with Ortilery, that coulda been one helluva fight. Sotrming beaches, pusing up through the country side, like WWII, it woulda been so awsome. But I had to go sapcewank like a mother, and destroy a perfectly good RP chance.

Are you wanting to say criticize, maybe? From what I saw, Immy didn't bash the spacers so much. He said that some space-techers were crap, but some could RP it well, he doesn't.

I'm not referring to Imitora. No, his post was fine. I have no qualm with him leaving space tech, it's a player's choice what to do with his nation.

I do, however, have a problem with

"Returning to sanity?" (implying that whomever space techs is not sane)

Why can't any of the replies simply say...

"Hey, good for you!"

or...

Imitora , we'll miss you in the stars buddy , youll always be welcome to use an Elarian Vessel if you need to get a ride somewhere out of the Sol system. Just call , we'll pick ya up. I can only say I understand some people misuse space tech , but its the ones who RP it well and dont abuse it that make it worth while and a great RPing experience. Now does this mean Imitora and Elara will never again RP , I think not! Ill come to Earth for a good RP if I have to.

I'm not understanding the problem, or what is wrong with me welcoming him back from space. He's a member of my region, a close ally, and a great RPer. Wether you like it or not, future and modern natioins don't mesh well together in wars, so it made it difficult at times for us to RP. I know a few wars that I would have loved to have him at my side but couldn't, because it was to be a modern tech war.

I don't think anyone was intentionally trying to slam space nations, only to joke. What I do think is that you take things waaay to personally. I curse and rant and rave at everyone in my region, space tech or not but noone cares because it's all in fun.

So go scrutinize somewhere else, spaceman. :P

And Elara, you be quiet. You've always been cheesy. :lol:

And, okay, perhaps I am taking this a bit seriously, but I came across the thread and couldn't help but be perturbed by the fact that not many welcomed Imitora to modern tech, rather it was sanity or blatant comments about space-tech that were naturally, irritating.

I'm a nation going in to space tech. Apparently that makes me cheesy.

See, I alwasy found that while in truth, a mixture of the two is the best way to go. I have a nice spacedy fleet and such, but my troops still walk and my tanks still have treads. Sure, we have snazzy VTOLS instead of helicopters, and pulse guns instead of M16's, but its not so far out in left field that I couldn't RP with either the Space'ers or the Modern group. Balence is the key to happiness in life. :)

Takes out a silver pen , Elarian made and with blue ink of course , begins writing ideas for a peaceful gathering. Piles of paper line the floors as all his ideas end up with someone getting shot or decapitated.

This might take a while , Ill get in touch with both of you guys soon , get ready for a party.

I'm considering something similar.

Ever since Tor Yvresse disapeared, I've been seeing less and less point to Distant future tech for me. I mostly rp with magic using nations, or near-future ((WV, if you are reading this, I want to know what you count yourself as)).

Most of my 'wonderful' technology can be duplicated by magic, I've never been quite clear on whether or not my Inquisitorial battle armor is enchanted or just really powerful magic...
