The Guilds' major form of currency for international commerce is the Ounce Platinum, equal to approxiamtely 720USD. Internally, Liters of Water are used, with the value varying within 10% of 2.5USD.

No more confusing than Americans would when buying stuff in Canada, and vice-versa.
Besides, that symbol looks more like a C than an E anyway.
