Genya's President Sworn In; Assassination Attempt!
As Genya's newly elected President, General Kit Ph'at, was sworn in today, an assassin fired a shot from a tree nearly 750 metres away.
Seven-year old Princess Qai Zhu F'eht, the sole surviving member of the Genyan Imperial Family, was about to knight President Ph'at, when the bullet streaked towards the Princess. President Ph'at threw the Princess to the ground, and the bullet hit him in the buttocks.
President Ph'at is now in hospital with minor injuries. He will likely be released within a few days.
Tis a pity the sniper was of such poor marksmanship.
Nine Mile will send it's best investigators of Homeland Security to help figure out who this was done by.

We are not certain weather Ph'at was the intended target, or if the Princess's murder was the assassins goal. We are certain that the marksman was untrained, and that the range was likely a factor in the shooter's poor aim.
We have recovered the weapon. It is a Genyan sniper rifle, non-descript, really.

OOC: The fingerprints are not on file, since we have no file. It's a sniper rifle of the Revolutionary-era, 1979-1984, Military issue. They are availiable on the black market for $1,300.

The GSIA has compiled thus far:
Both fingerprints on the rifle barrel and bullet match. Were not able to find a case match because a caseing was not found.
Actual fingerprints were found on the weapon, and a few tentative matches have been made, but an exact match is impossible due to contaimination of evidence due to crowd panic. The GSIA has a dossier of sniper-qualified troops from Genya in the years prementioned, and is using that for a cross-examination.

We demanded nothing. We simply made a suggestion of what we would do. In fact, we doubt he has any valuable information.

Perhaps he has so tired of breaking Genya's law, that he must now move on to an international level.
He was in jail before Genya told me to place him there. It is under strict law that if anyone in the region of Trenchtown is an informant we can keep them in jail for a maximum of 30 days.
Pay him the money the USD can loan, then investigate his leads. If they turn up false, take the money back, and execute him for treason. If they turn out to be true, take back 2m and use the 500,000 to pay for his life sentance in jail, for withholding info. pertaining to national security.

Because of this developement, the GSIA has divuldged the following information:
Hayha was placed in the area of the ceremony starting 5 days before the swearing in. He had recently bought 50 rounds of ammo that is able to fire from the assasins rifle. His fingerprints are also on the weapon.
Because Simo met all the requirements, we give Genya the option of:
A) Punish him accordingly
B) Ship him to Geyna for further investigation, or prosecution
C) Continue the investigation in the USD
The GSIA is still waiting for an answer. This is not of our concern, and it costs taxdollars to suspend the investigation...
I will ship him to Genya immediatley.
