Did you ever participate before? If no, your chances to host are nearly zero.
06-11-2003, 16:51
Nope, never competed before, but I'm just getting my name out there. I'm not expecting to be selected as host anyways. If I don't get it, then it's more of a PR sort of thing. I've got a nation of about 600mil and almost everyone is devoted to sports so we try to compete in as many international events as possible.
Rejistania
06-11-2003, 16:54
It showed merely not knowing, how the world cups work, so if it was for PR reasons, it was not good for your own side. But despite of this, I hope you like it and do well.

I'm really sorry about not RPing past group stage in FHWCIV (phew, now that's an acronym.) I had to go away for a few days. Though, it seemed to turn out alright... :)

I'm in, and I'd like to put in a tentative bid for hosting. Tentative because there's a lot of nasty stuf going around my country's area at the moment. If war breaks out... Anyway, I'm putting in my bid.
Edenstein
10-11-2003, 05:13
Seeing as how Edenstein is the only country in the Lake Erie Tropical Islands Region to get snow, We would like to enter our team into the competition.
Ravenspire

While we're sure Edenstein is welcome regardless, we feel we should clarify: this is the field hockey world cup. An ice hockey competition has existed in the past, but we're uncertain of its current status.

They were looking for a new host for the ice hockey, but it looks like it'll be hosted by the first hosts again. (The thread is called "old-time hockey..." and is around here somewhere.)

Once again, i suggest that the words "field hockey" appear in the thread titles to avoid this repeated confusion, since the majority of NS players are from countries where "hockey" means the version played on ice, not the one played on grass. (USA, Canada, Sweden, etc.) I'm gonna suggest o the organizer of the other one putting the words "ice hockey" in his title too.

Re: Field Hockey

We regret to inform you that the Edenstein team is forced to pull out of the turnament. Last night when flying over the Osix mountains in northern Edenstein, their plane crashed and only 3 members of the team survived. We feel that at this time, the three memebers, no matter how talented they are, would not stand a good chance against the other nations. We are sorry for this accident.

(BTW, sorry for delay in draw. Computers been acting funny. Should be up today, though.)
Rejistania
16-11-2003, 11:54
We would have to reach 32 entries for the next good position.

EDIT: Perhaps we could also do it with 25 entries, when we're using groups of five and allow the 16 best to pass group stage.

16-11-2003, 12:01

TBF, I still count 24 nations on the sign-up sheet, and Akbarland isn't one of them.
