Palestinian Lands Elections

01-11-2003, 05:25
In the first time that Palestine (all of Gaza, 'Israel', and West Bank) has been totally free, elections have been called by President Yasser Arafat. It is expected that 50-60% of all people of voting age will be taking part in the elections.

Candidates:

Yasser Arafat - Arab Ba'ath Socialist Party, Palestine: Led the struggle to free Palestine since 1967. Freed Palestine through both peaceful and militaristic avenues. Wishes to keep a peaceful balance between the large Zionist population and the Arab population of Palestine. Most popular among the people of Palestine.

Sheik Ahmed Yassin - Progressive Islamic Party: Leader of Hamas during the war to free Palestine. Used militaristic and peaceful means to achieve his goal. After Palestine was freed, was seen as a possible threat to Arafat's government as he threatened to take over if elections were not called immediatelly. Wants all Zionists out of the country. Second most popular among Palestinians.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah - Army of God Party: Leader of Hizb'Allah during the war to free Palestine. Used both militaristic and peaceful means to combat the Zionist entity from Lebanon. Has also called for the immediate removal of all Zionists, stronger ties with all Islamic fundamentalist countries, and support for Islamic groups worldwide. Third most popular among Palestinians.

I vote for Anarchy, it's the most promising after reviewing those three...

Question, what did the new Palestinian Government do with all the Jewish people in that region anyway...?

There has been no official policy on the Jewish population of Palestine. Policies will be determined by whoever wins these elections.

What are the positions of these three candidates regarding the status of Catholics who live in your nation?

Well, are the Jewish alloud to vote in this election? I think they should be, because if they are not, then they are not being represented in their future. Which is evil and wrong and would make you no better then the Jewish Isreali government...

What are the positions of these three candidates regarding the status of Catholics who live in your nation?

All candidates have stated that the Catholics of Palestine will be allowed to continue to practice their religion however they want, except for the last two candidates who wish to impose some limitations on the Catholics.

Yasser Arafat has stated that he will allow the Catholic population to continue to their religious practices in peace and has hinted that if he is elected that he may open a new fund to deal with Catholic religious sites and offer government protection to Catholics.

Sheik Ahmed Yassin has stated that he will allow the Catholics to continue to worship however they want, but must do it in private. He has stated blatantly that he will not help fund the Catholics but may offer them extra government protection.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah has stated that the only place the Catholics will be allowed to pray is in their own houses. All religious sites will be closed off. No protection nor funds will be given to the Catholics.

At the moment, they are not considered citizens of Palestine. The only candidate that wishes to allow them to offer them citizenship and allow them to live in Palestine is Yasser Arafat.

Then the Church and Royal Government of the Schismatic States expresses moral support for Yasser Arafat. Although we are not in a position to meddle in Palestine's affairs, we appreciate Mr. Arafat's efforts to protect the rights and interests of Catholic Palestinians.

In that case, you're no better then the old Israeli Government. And this nation puts you on the same oppressive level as the Isrealis.

Now we fully support Yasser Arafat, for his ideas to let Jewish and Muslims remain peacefully and equally together. We are glad to hear Yasser Arafat can "Forgive and Forget"

As the first results start to filter in...

Yasser Arafat - 46%
Sheik Ahmed Yassin - 23%
Sheik Hassan Nasrallah - 30%

It is surprising to everyone in Palestine that Sheik Ahmed Yassin is in the third spot, as he was thought to be the second most popular candidate.

(OOC: For refrence, my nation is right where Sudan should be)

IC: The Sultanate is pleased with the result of this election and hopes that Yasser Arafat's progressive policies will lead to the growth of peace between the worlds of Islam and Judaism.

However, we are slightly perturbed by the use of the word 'socialistic,' in his party's title. There is a downward stairway leading to godless communism, and its first step is labor-laws.....

With 90% of the districts reporting in on their votes, it appears that Yasser Arafat has been re-elected to the Presidency.

Yasser Arafat - 50%
Sheik Hassan Nasrallah - 28%
Sheik Ahmed Yassin - 21%
