Thats a possibility considering Hitler wasn't his families original last name. It was Schielstug or something like that. LOL imagine going Heil Shcielstug

When John XXIII held the Vatican council to modernise the church many cahnges were including masses to be read in English or native tongoue instead of latin. This caused the Church to split into Vatican II, those who follow the true Pope and the new teachings of the Church and Vatican, those who are stuck in the past. For many years Vatican Is lost members bacause they had no Pope. So in a dingy and cheap hotel they corwned the false poe Pius XIII.

They do not have many, they can't find enough Catholics who would betray the true Chruch. They do however have compounds where many families of Vatican I "Catholics" live....like cults.

My country is officially Eastern Orthodox, so I have to muddle in this: Moscow is the true holy city!

Technically for Eastern Orthodox isnt Constantinople the main holy city? Thats where the head Patriach sits.
01-11-2003, 08:48
Constantanople, or rather Istanbul, was the head of Eastern Orthodox... But after the Turkish capture of the city, they outlawed Eastern Orthodox. Then the Eastern Orthodox religion re-located to Moscow. Which then became known as "The Third Rome"

Aren't there several Orthodox churches, Greek, Russian, Serbian ect?

Yes, but they're all classified as "Eastern Orthodox"

The main ones are: Greek, Armenian, and Russian...

Dont they still have their main church in Istanbul though? Because I thought they considered the head Patriach the Patriach of Constantinople.

I think that's just his title. Istanbul is now Muslim.. The great Orthodox Monolithic Cathedrals have been turned Islamic for nearly 1000 years now... They couldn't even build their own Mosques, they had to spit on Christianity, and referbish the Orthodox Cathedrals!
01-11-2003, 08:56
Christians from the same time period certainly weren't much better..... if at all..... in fact, they weren't.....
01-11-2003, 08:58
You have a piont there... You know on one of the Crusades, the Crusaders actually SACKED the allied city of Constantanople, because they didn't supply them right or something... I think that was the 4th or 2nd Crusade...

True, that must have been a big insult to the Orthodox Church.

OOC: Nope, he's not back in the Hagia Sophia, which is now a mosque.

The Eastern Orthodox churches aren't all headed up by one Patriarch. In theory they acknowledge the Pope as being the head of the Church... in theory. Patriarchs always existed as one rank beneath the Pope before the Schism in 1054. The Orthodox Patriarchates are all in communion with one another, but no one Patriarch is superior to all others, in theory at least, they are all the same. The Russian Orthodox Church has had its own Patriarch since the 1500s I believe.

The Fourth Crusade is the Crusade which sacked Constantinople. It established the Latin Empire of Constantinople, and forced the Latin rite on the churches of Constantinople. They created the Latin Patriarch of Constantinople (a title which may still exist, I'm not sure, it certainly existed for some time after the crusaders lost the city). This all occured in 1204. Eventually the Byzantines recaptured Constantinople and reinstated the Greek rite and Greek Patriarch of Constantinople.

Motto of the 4th crusade ... pay your bribes. Crusaders helped an Byzantine emperor into power, but he did not pay the promised gold to them. They got it themselves.

That's not exactly true... but the motto should either be "For crying out, they're Christians too, you morons!" or "There's no such thing as an impregnable city, you morons!".

Either way, it needs the word morons in it.

We will not tolerate any attempt to invade our nation based purely on religious matters. The State is avowedly atheist, and shall remain that way.

So under what circumstances will you allow an invasion then?

Jimmy 'the snake' Valantino knelt down in prayer in his chapel on his secret island base. A place of worship, of contemplation, of business. He then opened his eyes and stood up, to leave apparantly.
He thought;

"As long as I make a profit and stake in every world market and economy of any type, I dont give a rats arse who is defender of the Catholic faith."
