The Yevoni majority has been attacked recently by the Albhedi and Sacceyheli minority in riots touched off by the aledged attack of the Guado Yevoni on the formerly peaceful Albhed controlled island of Bikanel.
Some of the Yevoni have openly called for a type of jihad against other religious groups including demands that United Socialist States of Basadia send troops to "Wipe the infidels off the planet". The Albhedi and the Sacceyheli have also called for Basadian intervention -- on the other side.
The United Socialist States of Basadia has as yet taken no action on the Bikanel attack as due to the situation at home any intervention would be likely to cause even more unrest. The government is considering several options including mass arrests, the use of nonleathal methods of crowd control, and the use of leathal force. We would prefer to use less leathal means should it be possible, but the rioting must end quickly, before it becomes a religious civil war.
