the n00b protection agency doesn't work
i know there are (or where maybe) a bunch of nations who would help out n00bish nations to Rp better and so on, but this just isn't working, a young nation of -starfleet- is being harassed about A) being a space nation and B) having five ships, all the while being assaulted with false facts, it just seems unfair to me that new nations be verbally busted open because of a minor infraction, all of you who practice beating newbies should be ashamed of yourselves, these people don't quite know the rules of nationstates yet and yelling at them because they are building or doing something that they shouldn't be doesn't help, remember you were new once too and this is exactly the sort of actions which will forever discourage people from joining this site, no one likes to be humiliated and that is exactly what all the older nations are doing, i say again: those of you who relentlessly berate newbies should all be ashamed of yourselves

I agree, thats why I try to relentlessly beat oldbies too. And old women crossing the street. I just push them into oncoming traffic. Two tons of metal and rubber and plastic doesnt discriminate and neither do i!

I would have to agree with you most of the time, but then there are people who attack you with 10 million soldiers when they only have 7 million people, and then refuse to roleplay any sorta game!
PS: Who declares war within ther first month of playin the game?????
but the others who don't start wars, just build up their resources get beaten ass-up every day, and to tell the truth it sickens me
Wha?! Newbies are verbally executed for minor fractures of rules?! Am I ever going to dare post again? Maybe this Rping-a-nation idea wasn't so good...
of course some exceptions can be made^

I see you left out all of the facts:
he is a 29 million man nation trying to build a fleet of Defiant class warships.
and this quote from him explains all:
"i started my country much further ahead then you did numbnuts"
was was playing nice, until he called me a numbnut
and? does that mean that he should be berated, ask him to stop or inform a mod, he is new and probably was reacting to being stomped on by larger countries, remeber other people have feelings to,

I simply told him that it was an uber fleet. Then he insulted me. case closed.
no, an uber fleet would be hundreds of ship, or in his case dozens, 5 is hardly more than a thimble full, you yelled he responded case closed

I am in the Newbie Protection Agency. If I had noticed someone treating this n00b like that I would have intervened. I don't read every topic in the forums however and due to limited time I hardly read any. Could you provide a linky so I can check this out please?

I yelled later, AFTER he insulted me. ANd it is an uber fleet for his age. I wasn't even launching shuttles back then. Oh, and he has a Developing Economy. ya, he can afford 5 of the Federation's most advanced warships. right, sure. I'll go now and let you think about that.
yes please do leave, he is more advanced than you because he started out that way, did you read that? or that he almost drained is economyin the process?

I will explain this again...
Jitano, do you remember what it was like in April? Do you remember when the n00b invasion happened? THAT is why we are like this. I had to fight my way out of those n00bs and become a good RPer. Nations like -Starfleet-are not potential RPers, they are a hinderence to the ones who are the potential.
that does not give you the right to fuck them over verbally, how do you know that they're not going to be any good, you won't give them the chance to do any RPing because you already chased them off

ok, I came back because I couldn't resist crushing you.
I did notice both.
1. 'and this quote from him explains all:
"i started my country much further ahead then you did numbnuts" '
I belive I said that. I am also a space tech nation.
But let us suppose that he is more advanced. Ok, I'm automaticly more advanced. I will now make dozens of warships in the blink of an eye.
2. "almost"? He can't DO IT. Now, once he becomes 100 million, he can probably make one. It took me weeks just to make my 1st ship

Jumping on the n00b's is'nt nice, but what i mostly wonder over. If the n00b or newbie does not start a war or anything, why care what he has?.
No one is forcing you to play with him, thats the thing i see the most. Older bigger nations berating and generally being mean, i say leave them be until they actually break some big rule. Minor stuff will just become bigger things the more someone comments..
then you are not a good RPer, it took you more than 7 NS years to build A ship? did any one here kick up this much fuss when the klingons made 10 ships in the first month? no, so i don't see why you are doing it now, it makes no sense to be this spissed over 5 small ship, not one of them is over 800 metres, look at soviet trasa who uses more than 10 ISD'S and an SSD, you know what that is? hypocracy

His economy was drained in the first place, and as I pointed out in what I hope was a helpful hint to him - even if he is a space tech country which just "started out more advanced than us", he still has a developing economy. He should try to base his acquisitions around what a developing economy of 29 million people should be able to afford. Everyone's economies are supposed to be based on the same scale remember? He can be a space tech country, that's fine, but he should RP as a "Developing" space tech country, not a country which leaps right into churning out some of the most powerful (albeit small) warships in the Star Trek universe. Some people were probably coming on a little strong, quite probably myself included, but we're all just trying to point out that he's not being realistic with his development.
You know, I don't know how many times I've said it now, but:
Just ignore them!
I meen, why the hell do people incist on going out and IC anihilating n00bs with the OOC reason of god-moding... it cheepens your own RP. If no one replies to their post they will feel bad about it... I know because when I started off I made sure not to make a mistake and because I wasn't controversial (sp) I got ignored... not intentionally, but because I wasn't posting anything interesting or anoying.
The main point is though, it works. People won't post if you don't play with them.

Hey, nobody IC did anything to this n00b, everyone just pointed out OOC how they weren't being realistic. I've seen much worse cases of "n00b abuse", and nobody was interested in the slightest. I find it interesting that several players speaking OOC got the attention of Jitano calling for the Newbie Protection Agency to intervene - unless I missed something, nobody decided to attack this particular country!

Won't constant ignoring only encourage newbies to avoid NS? I don't know if this is the right topic to mention this, but I've got to add my two cents in. Yes, it's true that people won't post when not played with, but won't this just make NS seem like a closed-in society for only old members? I'm sure it's most newbies' fears that they'll be shunned or kicked out when they're just trying to be part of the group, I at least feel that all the time.
I think that it's all right to calmly tell this nation in OOC how his ship-building is unrealistic, but not to yell at him, beat him up in IC, or ignore him. alright, i may not know every little RPing nuance, but had any of you ever thought of private messaging this guy? i've moderated for several forums and if i learned one thing, people generally are more accepting of what you have to say if you pm them. (my personal theory is that way they don't look 'weak' in front of everyone else)
if you look at that thread, the first 3 of the first 6 replies rip this poor guy to shreds. and not a single helpful comment in there... it's not surprising that he reacted the way he did. perhaps you could have lightened up to begin with? then this whole thread wouldn't have been necessary.

Claps.
1.) I was a newb not too long ago. I musta been thw worst god modder now when I look back. Thanks to some people who talked ot me in the nicest way even tho they had to be annoyed. (thanks Adejaani, Elara, New Genoa, Atlantian Outcasts, Imitora, Pantera, Omz222, Grunge France) I was able to see that I was in the wrong. im sure I would have reacted hostiley if they werent so nice. So if you're gonna be a little harsh, offer some nice advice as well. I will start doing that from now on.
2.) Ignoring them wont help, and only actiong on it when it invoves you is down rtight stupid. Just think, they go along for so long tihnking they are really strong and have a good force built up. They get ready for thier first RP and BOOM. "You should only have about 10% of what you claim to have"
They're gonan dismiss u right there and then and just accuse you of ignoring them because they can "kick your @ss"

Thank you for clearing that out. My humblest apologies for not noting your point. If that's what you meant, then I concur! But I will just restate that if they're accidentally godmodding or otherwie being unrealistic, that isn't grounds for sucker punches. But thanks for seeing things the same way.
