Lavenrunz

Hofburg, Lavenrunz
Empress Joanna is wearing a formal gown; her hair is carefully arranged like a crown on her head. She is sitting on her throne and making a televised address. From faint ambient sounds (coughing, shuffling) it can be discerned that others are in the room with her.
Glancing up, her electric blue eyes looking right at the camera, she says,
"Loyal subjects, friends and allies:
Today I am making an important announcement. I believe it is my duty to formally resign as Secretary-General of SATO. When this organization was formed, it was in order to prevent the outward aggressions of Iesus Christi and the Reich. I believe that the fact that we have accomplished this is a foregone conclusion.
What we have also accomplished is the creation of a very successful alliance, which has stood the test of several conflicts now. More nations seek to join SATO by the day. This is a testament to what we have done.
Times change. And the nature of war remains the same but the means by which wars are fought changes. It is time that we had fresh leadership with new perspectives.
Lavenrunz' contributions to SATO will remain, and our relations with our allies will not change save in this regard: I will no longer lead the alliance.
Happy times, and times of testing took place during my tenure as Secretary-General, and I will miss the position. But I am also glad to leave my successor a winning team to work with.
May God bless you all."
