Thanks for the clarification. I have a feeling that countries like this one who churn out Star Trek, Star Wars, and other extremely advanced space tech are part of the reason so many people blanket ignore all space tech.

How big are you? 29 million? I wasn't even making shuttles that young. Mabe a few sattalites, and that was because I was in an alliance with several other nations (Alliance of Smaller Nations). I know. It sucks. I am space tech, but I have to keep a low profile or be ignored by 50 nations. I have to slip under the radar, prove myself a good RPer to them, then tell them.

That's not the case at all. A "Developing" economy is still a developing economy, space tech or not. You might "have" space tech in that you know how to build ships like this, but an economy as miniscule as yours would be incapable of building a single ship let along 5!
To give you some idea within the Star Trek paradigm, in the 23rd century the Federation was rolling in economic resources. How many Constitution class starships could it keep deployed at any given time? 12.
So you're basically saying that because "you're space tech", you should be able to build and support a fleet of 5 Star Trek ships, despite your developing economy and your small population? If you're space tech, you should at least try to base your capabilites on the capabilities of "sci fi nations" like the Federation in Star Trek. Us modern nations try to work out how powerful our economies and militaries should be relative to real world nations - good space tech nations do the same thing with science fiction nations.
If you were basing your capabilities to build and sustain a fleet of 5 ships (which are presumably all far in advance of the TOS Constitution class starship level of tech), you should be nearly half as large as the Federation was in the 23rd century, with a frightening economy. But you're what, under 30 million with a developing economy?
You may be "space tech" but that doesn't mean that you're economically ahead of anybody. You just build more advanced tech with your economic resources. If modern tech countries base their capabilities on modern real-life nations, you should base your capabilities on those of the governments your basing your country on in your source science fiction (in this case, Star Trek).
In point of fact though the Defiant-class of ship is only somewhat larger than a B'rel Bird of Prey, it ismuch more powerful, though it may not look it on tv, but please for the love of money, leave the n00b alone, this is why people can no longer have good RP's on NationStates, they're all to busy busting in on n00bs, justy leave them alone and gently inform them that their decisions or tech is outlandish or not realistic, don't beat them over the head with it

I'm not trying to bash him/her about the head with it, I've said what I've said because I think if -Starfleet- bore what I mentioned in mind when he/she was announcing developments in the future, people may not just ignore him/her.
