After the total destruction of Kvenland by nuclear terrorism, the leaders of Polaris Alliance gathered together in a secret conference.

After a brief opening speech, Mahti Karjalainen, the prime minister of Carelicum, asked his scientific assistant Aino (a shapely blonde in a cellophane suit) to present their newest discovery to the other leaders.

"These are the images we received from one of our long-range scouts. The planet is in orbit of the star Polaris, 500 light years from our Sun. It seems habitable but uninhabited."

The images of the planet, christened New Kalevala, were fascinating. Lush boreal forests, hills and swamps, but also an abundance of arable land.

Mahti Karjalainen now presented a request to the other members of Polaris Alliance. "The Earth is no longer safe to us. We have our colony ships ready, but as we have no significant military fleet, your assistance will be required to complete the exodus."

(OOC: Ydinterrorismia? :P Mut häipykää te vaan sinne Uudelle Kalevalallenne, niin mä jään vahtimaan Suomen etuja tänne Telluksellemme. :P)

Ja Kraytti, tuota.. Sää saat ostella sit mun maa-armeijastakin suurimman osan, en mä sitä tuolla tarvitse. Katsotaan nyt sitten maan jakamista, jos joku Kekko haluaa tuonne maahan jäädä niin se saa jäädä :P

"A tragic accident", said mr. Kekkonen when it was his turn to speak. "But.. This is, in a way, the sign I have been waiting for. Finland is already far too full, and this latest accident truly shows, that it is no longer safe either."

"We - or I, actually - have been looking for a new home for a long time - and as you probably know, we have been building our space navy for a while now. It is not strong yet, but I am sure our friends are willing to help if some hot-head decides to attack us.

Kekkosmaa will follow, we have a couple of colony ships ready. I am sure I can convince the government and the people to move now, after what happened to Kvenland. "

Kun nyt olette sinne avaruuteen menossa niin voisittekos tuoda tuliaisina vähän uraania :D
No ei, hyvä vaan jos menette koska Maan pinnalla on hieman täyttä.
PS. Sopiiko että lähetän Polaris Allianceen/Uuteen Kalevalaan siirtomaani?

About that colony.. Maybe you should ask Carelicum about that colony.. But I'm sure we don't need the whole planet ourselves, so I've got nothing against colonies.. Unless they belong to some warmongering states or other jerks.. Hey, you're a suomalainen, after all :P

Well, i'll ask Carelicum... Nope, i want no war. I'll telegram to Carelicum IMMEDIATELY.

Kraytia is still staying on Earth. We shall negotiate tomorrow about the price, Kekkosmaa.

The first terraformer ship arrived in New Kalevala. The stealthy and smallish vessel moved through space quietly. At the destination, a colony pod was launched on the planet. A thousand engineers and technicians climbed out of the pod to the icy surface with their space suits on. Some heavy machinery were set up. The first priority was to gather valuable metals and minerals to allow building of some more heavy machinery. Solar panels were set up to gather energy. Even some smallish defensive posts were set up, just in case.

This was not the Nordic paradise planet presented in pictures of the leaders' conference. The mean temperature was below 100 degrees Celsius and most of the surface was covered with a layer of ice, making the minerals hard to gather.

However, everything went according to the plan, until...

OOC: Umh. I think I already sent a colony ship there.. Maybe I should've checked out that planet first :P Ok, so what are you planning now? :P

The huge colony ship of Kekkosmaa approached the planet, carrying about 70 million people - workers, engineers, soldiers and scientists. When it was still some distance from the planet, about a dozen small terraformer ships were launched - the Kekkos knew what the planet was like, their own explorer ships had taken pictures of it.

Those rather large ships landed, each guarded by few fighters. Each of them carried goods required to terraform the planet and build the colonies. A couple of soldiers came to take a look at the planet. Other people came to build some sort of base. Some machinery was rolled out of the ships and, like the karelians, the Kekkos set up some solar panels as well.

But the first Kekko to set foot on that planet was mr. Kekkonen, who stepped out of one of the ships, took a couple of steps on the planet, said "Greetings, new home! On this place shall be built the new capital of Kekkosmaa - [insert good name here :P]".

Then they started their work.

"Sir, we have found something!"

A deposit of unknown material was discovered from the new planet by Carelian terraforming engineers. The material, soon to be called Polaricium, seemed to have very interesting properties.

Probably as an excellent energy source, it also seemed possible (at least theoretically), to produce magnetic monopoles from it.

But then something happened...

((No, luulenpa, ettei mitään sitten tapahtunutkaan ja kaikki menee suunnitellusti, kun Carelicum ei kerran ole vastaillut :) Ajattelin ihan vain nostella topiccia, jos vaikkapa lisää suomalaisia ilmaisisi kiinnostustaan tähän. Hiljaista tuolla Polaris Alliancessa :)))
