LPAP: IRV Passes in Landslide

THE LOST PLANET
31-10-2003, 06:09
Velo- The world of politics among the peoples of the Lost Planet was set on its ear today with the passage of the much debated Instant Run-off Voting Inititive. Crowds took to the street to celebrate what many have called long overdue election reform. With 5 major and almost 2 dozen minor political parties, politics in this small nation was chaotic at best. Many critics have claimed that the trade offs and backroom dealings nessecary to secure the passage of most legislation have severly crippled the government and left it largely ineffective. A grass roots movement to streamline elections involving sometimes dozens off candidates and almost as many choices on issues led to the passage of this historic Inititive. Opposition leader Paulo Copi, who co-authored the law, has invited all Democratic nations to send delegates to a summit planned for later this week to explain this revolutionary system of voting.
