The board of directors was assembled in Chiron Station.
"Motion passed. Next order of business?"
"I have it. A request for uranium and plutonium by Eniqcir."
"What are the specifics?"
"They want weapons grade if the price is good, otherwise they'll take the raw stuff, in the amount of 50 kilotons."
The board erupted into a flurry of voices. The general idea being tossed about was something like "Fifty kilotons! Holy crap!"

A badly damaged frigate cruised towards Chiron Station, scarred from a space against space pirates. The frigate crew was intent upon repairing the battered vessel at Chiron Station...

{Chiron Ground Control calling Unidentified Vessel, please identify.}
A tiny ringing interrupted the cacauphony in the board room. One of the Spacers removed somthing like a cell phone from his pocket, flipped it open, and read something off the screen.
"GC says there's an unidentified vessel on approach, possibly damaged."
"Oh, we don't have time for this. Let the GC take care of it. Now then, I suggest we table the Eniqcir issue until we can get a face-to-face meeting arranged."
"Seconded."
"Good. Volkov, can you make the arrangements?"
"On it, sir."
"Good. Next order of business...."

Quite apart from the usual boxy and utilitarian feel that usually pervades CMC and Spacer holdings, a large glowing disc appeared over Chiron Station, Centaur Planet.
Still don't have a name for this place, do they? Ah, well, I just dock with it, no complaints from me if they use a sucky designation.
Somewhat ironically, the E.V. Flagship was originally a CMC vessel- although at the time it was known as New Millenium Aerospace.
Once it was firmly secured and a docking tube extended, the Eniqciri delegation exited their craft to meet with the Board.

The battered frigate was towed into Chiron station, badly scarred, communications and weapons all but destroyed. The frigate, the Lightbringer was on patrol when it was attacked by a fleet of space pirates.
After docking, the Captain of the vessel, Thomas Lafayette strolled down the gangway requesting repair for his battered vessel.

"Sir, we're not recieving any identification."
"Keep hailing. It's possible that their transmitter is damaged, but make sure to take precautions. Make sure there's a security team in place when she opens her doors."
"Acting sir. Unidentified vessel, this is Chiron Ground Control. If possible, please identify. You are cleared to dock at port seven, just follow the blinking lights."
As Lafayette exited his vessel, three Spacers clad in black kevlar were waiting for him armed with dart guns, feet just barely touching the floor in Centaur's low gravity.
The lead man lowered his weapon, and spoke. "Please identify yourself, and follow me."

Thomas Lafayette follows the three guardsmen to a waiting officer. Thomas Lafayette bows.
"My name is Captain Thomas Lafayette, commander of the Meteor Class Assault Frigate, the Lightbringer. I have orders from 5CN High Command to patrol near this area. We were set upon by a fleet of space pirates and barely managed to escape. It would be appreciated, if you will help with the repair of this vessel. Of course, you will be compensated for this..."

(OOC: It's really Eniqcir buying a suspiciously freakin' huge load of uranium and plutonium off of the Guild, but there's no reason other people can't get involved.)
"I am Nestor of Mycenae. This news of pirates is disturbing. We have never had any problem with them before. We will assist you if possible, but may I ask why you were ordered to patrol Guild space? Centaur is not generally an open port of call, and the Board of Directors certainly won't take kindly to the idea of anyone spying on its activities."
Back in the Board room, the beeper sounded a second time.
"Ah, looks like the Eniqciri have arrived. Mighty impressive, they are. Too bad we can't get ahold of that warp engine of theirs."
"No matter about that, just make sure that they've landed safely and get someone out to meet them. If that hasn't already been done."
"Oh, it's been done, sir. The usual delegation is waiting."

"I have orders to patrol this area, due to the presence of space pirates that use this sector as a base to attack sectors controlled by the Five Civilized Nations. I apologize on behalf of my government for any intrusions into your territories..."

"A pirate base near Centaur? Sorry, but I find that very hard to believe. Apology accepted, but there shall have to be an investigation. Pirate activity is potentially very detrimental to the Centaur project. What evidence do you have that points to this areas as being the pirates' point of origin?"
(OOC: For those who may be unaware, the Centaur planet, and therefore Chiron Station, is located midway between Jupiter and Saturn, is a little less than double Pluto's radius, is mostly composed of ice, and has some very large comets and bits of dissasembled centaurs floating around it.)

Nestor looked rather disbelieving. "Saturn? Those would have to be pretty bold pirates to risk activity in Triumvirate space. Have you bothered to contact Scolopendra or Karmabaijan about this? I'm sure the tee-oh-why would want to keep an eye out."
