I've been around a while and I think I've come a fair bit from never rp'ing before to where I am now.

I was just wondering what you guys think of my Role Playing. Wether it be from any of my nations:

Assington
Arithon
Khadrim
Storm Giant

Come on.... These threads are so bothersome. If you cannot tell how well you are doing by simply looking at your level of interaction, the abilities of those that REGULARLY play with you, and the recognition your threads recieve, then you are probably a sub-par roleplayer.*

Furthermore, you should NEVER roleplay for other people. Write stories for other people, be a decent roleplayer to facilitate more interesting interaction, but NEVER base your play on others. Play for yourself, and play for the pleasure of the game. If other people do not like your play, get over it and play with other people.

If there are no other people, then I suggest you try a different form of self-entertainment, or stick to more of a one-way RPG like console/pc RPGs.

What? Highschool need-for-acceptance? Maybe not, if you're in highschool. However, it is generally considered a mark of immaturity.

Except that only the nations that you regularly roleplay with are in any position to give an accurate assessment. I have read one, maybe two threads within which you posted, thus I have no reason to formulate an opinion of your RPing capabilities, and by that same token, I would be remiss in asking you to give me your opinion of my own skills.

Furthermore, the typical response to these types of threads are "you're great!" and "i like u!", obviously conveying no true criticism or opinions on the betterment of your play. Ergo, these threads are rather pointless save to stroke the ego of the instigator.

Well I'm not concerned with an ego stroking......

It does not overly bother me, but rather I see it as a chance to possibly impart some of the RP wisdom I have gleaned from years of play. There are many things that make up a good roleplayer, not just their ability to visualize and conceptualize the world within which they play.*

I guess what really bothers me are the hordes of potentially-good roleplayers that allow themselves to get so mired in whether or not others like their particular style of play that they allow themselves to stagnate in other areas where they could improve.*

Myself, for example. I have been a player for years, playing throughout the entire spectrum of RPG. I have even helped work on several different newer games, and submitted several pieces of work to more established games.

However, I know that I will never reach the absolute pinnacle in roleplay perfection. There will always be areas where I need to grow and become more competent with. If I were to focus on the praise I recieve for certain areas of my play, the areas I need to work on would be neglected and would slowly become even more of a stumbling block in my overall play.

Ah, so if you are going to bring reality into this and not be humorous as I initially was, then I guess I must as well.

First off, I'm American. Though generally that would put me in the catagory along with the bigots, fücktards, racists, idiots, and morons, for this discussion, it also gives me a pretty decent advantage to being Elitist. I mean, come on, we have every right to be.

Secondly, it would be rather inappropriate of me to be racist, as my "people" are still killing each other over near-useless chunks of land. So, culturally, it is not only acceptable for me to hate, but it is damn near expected of me. The only problem? Do I hate my dick-ass jewish Father's people, or the blood-thirsty muslim hordes of my mother's?

Next, I am a teacher, which places me in a position of power over the people in my class. Since I happen to teach computers in the housing projects, I get to spend my days with the dregs of society, which continues to bolster my attitude of being better than everyone around me.

To continue, while politics are not my flavor of choice, the historical records I habitually peruse for my major often have the wonderful side effect of producing a most excellent knowledge of not only internal politicking, but international diplomacy, relations, and trade etiquette. So, my dear Roania, play the political card elsewhere, for I am hardly your average know-little American.

And, to emphasise a point, I'm female, which obviously makes me your better.

It isnt always the man "beging" for sex(i never beg for sex), women do that to, but can you just have sex with a guy you meet in the local store? No, it has to be that one boy.

According to my girlfriend, my "manly" equipment is in good condition if you know what i mean. And no i dont beg her for sex, best advise for you is to find a partner (if i may believe that statement, you dont have one yet) and get some experience in this field.

I dont recall seeing any men going trhough trauma therapy for those reasons. But its probably just a typical American problem.

Assington, we haven't interacted very much, but from what I've seen you're a good roleplayer. I agree with Angelus' first post. Do what makes you happy. If you're having fun and at least making an effort at believeable RP, then you're doing great. Find your niche, stick with it, and to hell with those who don't like it.

I don't care what other people think of my Roleplaying. It's nice to get compliments, sure, but I would rather Roleplay with a thousand godmodders, hacx0rs, and newb's than change a lick of my style.
