Cannot think of a name to Change Currency
Discision angers some, fosters unbridled apathy in others

After a full four days of existance, The Oppressed Peoples of Cannot think of a name government has decided to change the name of it's currency.

"Part of how we are recieved on the world market is how our currency is regarded amongst our fellow nations. How are they to take us seriously with our currency as the 'skint?'" stated Treasury chair Aglar Nusbum. "I mean, what is a skint, anyway?"

But not everyone is convinced. "Now is not the time to show such instability and indicision. We must keep a solid front as a decisive nation," Speaker Bin Dais stated in a press confrence yesterday. He is campaigning the House of Internal Affairs to reconsider.

Proffesor Tomma of the Cannot think of a name studies department of Cannot think of a name college thinks that it's really too early to panic. "This country is notoriously slow in making creative naming decisions. Just because they've decided to change the name of the Skint doesn't mean that it won't take them months, perhaps years to actually come up with one," Tomma stated in a telephone interview. "I mean, really-shouldn't we be coming up with a name for our country before we go renaming our currency?"

The United Good is currently the only nation using the Ninge, to the best of my knowledge. You are welcome to use it as it is quite pretty and biodegradable.

(out - the ninge is mentioned in D. Adams "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Is there a list of currencies & exchange rates somewhere ?)

The soul. It gives a whole new meaning to selling your soul, and having "millions of souls poured into the new space program" just sounds cool.

OOC: "The exchange rate of eight Ningis to one Pu is not a problem, but when you consider the fact that a Ningi is a triangular coin five thousand six hundred miles on a side, nobody has ever collected enough Ningis to own one Pu." (from Adams, "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe")

IC: If you can get your economy up to at least "Very Strong", you may use the Wolfsreichsmark (or simply "mark") as your national currency.

Skint is not so bad, because it sounds a bit like Cent. Other ideas are:
VesinTan (also made-up in the Rejistanian language it means 'valid thing')
KansuSideri (Rejistanian for 'stable worth')
Or not made up:
Lilangeni
Emalgeni (both are versions of the curency of Swaziland, one is the singular and one the plural form)
Tala (West-Samoa)
Vatu (Vanuatu)
Sentini (Tonga)
Ringgit (Malaysia)
Baht (Thailand)
