Looking to open trade with space nations.

Greetings, all! As you may or may not know, I am Lord Vultan of the Hawkmen of Hlormar IV, in the Proxima Centauri system about 4.25 light years from the Sol system. We are interested in opening trade with other peoples in space, and also give them a chance to visit us. Diplomatically, of course. Hlormar IV is a gas planet, about 51,800 kilometers wide at its equatorial diameter. Gravity is at .7 gs, and a day lasts about 20 hours. We have a small orbital station here, which we use as to monitor outside our planet, as well as for transport of goods and peoples onto the planet.

We also do some mining of the rings and the two moons around our planet for mineral resources. Those will be listed below as well.

What we're bringing to the table are the following. Several varieties of gases useful as propellant and energy.

Helium
Hydrogen
Chlorine
Methane
Acetylene
Tritium (under special agreement)

MINERALS

Nickel
Silver
Iron
Tin
Copper
Titanium
Magnesium
Lithium

And several other varieties of hydro-carbon gas in the Outer Layers on the planet. We are positioned in the Central Layer, where the air is a delightful oxygen/nitrogen mix. The Inner Layer is yet to be explored. The pressure is a bit high for our comfort.

So if anyone is interested in opening a trade route to us, let me know. I'll have a barrel of wine waiting!

Although our homeworld is many hundreds of light years away from earth, there is a wormhole which cuts the travel time between our system and yours to 4 minutes and 45 seconds. The exit happens to be right near the edge of the Proxima Centauri system. So far we have been using it as a shortcut to Earth and had not noticed your planet or station.
Trade could be very easily established between our worlds now that we are aware of your presence.
We would be very interested in trading Hydrogen Titanium and Copper. We could offer you Tarydium ore in exchange. We will dispatch the ISV Holten Maru with a small trade delegation as well as samples of Tarydium. Expect arrival within 10 hours.

That sounds excellent. When your transport nears the Hlormar system, we'll send a group of corvettes to escort it in.

How much of this Tarydium will you be willing to exchange, and for how much of the resources you're interested in?

how do you live on a gas planet?
30-10-2003, 07:57
We have wings. Allows us to fly from one floating city to another. The pressure is pretty decent in the Central Regions, where we are. Upper stratos has poison gas, lower stratos has higher pressure.

Are there no other nations willing to sign trade agreements?

1 million liters Hydrogen

5,950 tons Titanium

1,000 tons Copper

We would be willing to exchange 1 ton of Tarydium per 2 tons of copper

and 1 ton of Tarydium per 1 ton for Titanium

Shall we say 1 pound of Tarydium for each liter of hydrogen.
03-11-2003, 06:04
That sounds fine, actually. It will take a short time to get that amount of titanium, but we can ship in installments of, say, 1,250 tons per (NS)month?

Other than that, we believe we can meet your needs.

Agreed.

Excellent. We'll begin testing the limits and capabilities of this Tarydium as soon as we receive it.

Do you have mass quantities of tritium?

Ah, greetings. We have quantities of tritium mined from our gas harvesters. It is, after all, a byproduct of the hydrogen found in the Upper Stratos. However, mass quanitities is a different story.

And yet......

I'm sure none of my ministers would disagree if we were to, saaaaaay, harvest about 500 tons per (NS) month, and it managed to find it's way over to you. In exchange, would you be against a temporary trade agreement?

Proxima Centauri is WAY closer than 24 LY from Sol... (http://www.extrasolar.net/star.asp?StarID=35)*

Well how about that? Good news indeed! It seems we will have to talk to our 'benefactor' about this bit of duplicity!

OOC: Tarydium is stronger then carbon but is also brittle. Tarydium shards make excelent projectiles for weapons or blades for knives. Crystalized Tarydium is great for armor or building material, Liquid Tarydium is a volatile substance that can used for a power source or an explosive.

OOC: That sounds good. It'll give me a bit of room to create interesting things with.

I think that could be arranged. What are you in shortage of?

If you were to provide a short list of your major exports, my trade minister Biro could confer with me as to what we are in greatest need of. Right now we seem to lack uranium, since the moons are unwilling to relinquish it, but it is not high on our list of needs at the moment.

Cursed solar flares seem to be disrupting communications!
