Xanthalian technical advances update.

The Socialist Empire of Xanthal has completed research on an improved Quantum Slipstream drive. The new drive refines the method by which the ship enters the slipstream and allows the ship to burrow much deeper into parallel subspace, increasing it's speed fiftyfold to approximately 500,000 SL. Ironically, the new technology also increases efficiency by allowing the ship to "anchor" itself in slipstream without using the drive to hold it there. This means that the ship utilizing the technology will need to expend power only to enter the slipstream (exiting is achieved by cutting the drive's "anchor" and allowing the ship to realign with normal space). The new drive still needs some testing before it is approved for general use, but all Armada fleet vessels are expected to have their old drives replaced with the new model within five years, and many non-military vessels will be equipped as well.

In other news, Farad technology aquired in a trade with the nation of Capsule Corporation has been approved for use on Xanthalian warships (Dreadnaught and Super Dreadnaught class vessels) and will be installed on all currently commissioned vessels of that type by year's end. The Chloro-Borg technology aquired in the same trade has proven much more difficult to master for Xanthalian researchers, and although the technology has been deemed incompatible with all currently commissioned Xanthalian vessels, research continues on using the technology in individual systems or possibly even creating a specialized vessel class to take advantage of the technology.

Instantaneous Transmission Technology aquired from The Eastern Bloc has been determined to be less efficient than current Transdimensional communication relays used by Xanthal and thus shelved as possibly useful in a secondary project.

Well, assume it's happening over a period of a few months, but it's all the same general time period, yes.
