Today Veganian Engineers settled for a starcluster in which they will build a 5,000,000 km long cable. Engineers pointed out that the Kuiperbelt in which the construction began will be excellent for the purpose. Veganian spokesperson John Smith:

"Today is a proud day in Veganian history, bringing cable to outer space. Some people think its just to unwind cable after a spaceship, but this is truly a work of Veganian Engineering skill."

Veganian building corporation are also looking for material for their construction and wants to buy deuterium and boron 11 (ojmr). Anyone interested in selling any amounts of these will be contacted.

"Boron, thts so last century-ha, ha ha" was all the Sales Officer at Mark III technologies had to say, however, they are willing to begin a trade with you, "We have as much as you could possibly need, since the supplier insisted on fulfilling his contract when we had Lucite X2. Damned Arab"
So, you basically tell is how much you want, and a price your willing to pay, and its yours.

Ahh... So you have lots of it? and regarding it as waste? Then it can't be that valuable to you. We can take it of your hands for a cheap price, after all we need alot since we will put some every 500 meters. We will transport it for you, say how much you have and a grand total you want us to pay, we will deduct the freight from the price.

"Ah, erm, yes, hmm" Was the managing directors speach, before handing over to this bum from the streets.

(rough voice)"MT3 can offer you up to 5000 tons of quality Bo-Borrrrr....Boron, for a little ammount of £1 hundred million."

You mean a cable for data transmission?

You do realise a cable that long would have an astronomical resistance, and would be virtually useless for this purpose? It would be like trying to trasmit through a block of rubber - it just wouldn't work.

Also, at extreme lengths transmissions get interupted. This will be even worse in space, due to radiation etc. So, the even if you manage to get a signal at the far side, it would be so garbled as to be totally useless in every form.

I have full confidence that the ingeniuty and brilliance of the Vegana scientists will be more than enough to adress minor details such as these.

Ahem, MINOR detail?

Nope, the cable is not of the sort that is used for datatransmissions. What on earth would I put a datatransmission cable in the Kuiper belt for? It is much more solid than that
