The Empire of Houde has a rich and colorful history to enjoy. It starts well in the past when it was first colonated by the Neaderthals. Unlike their European cousins, this Neanderthals were able to thrive and stay hidden from Cro Magnon eyes. They were a fearsome tribe of barbarians, and thrived in their paradise. They continued their nomadic ways, until finally coming to rest the mountain ranges.
The Norse
The Norsemen arrived on the islands pre-Roman times. These Norsemen were the predessecors to the nomadic Vikings. They had some trading with the exotic barbarians, but didn't travel to far in land, staying near, what is now known, as Order of the Dragon. But when the Romans came, they were pushed inland, and found sancutary and help from the barbarians. Slowly over the years, the lowlanders used to be known as the Norsemen, and highlanders were the term for the Neaderthals
The Empire Forms
The empire began is formation under the leadership of the Mark Randal Houde, the leader of the lowlanders, began to unify tribes to his banner. Slowly, over the years, he united most of the outer ring of the current Houde, the middle being the barbarians. But then tradegy struck, and he was killed by a direwolf, and his eldest son took over.
The Reign of Nathaniel Houde
Nathaniel took over instantly, and sent a delegation, including himself, to the barbarians. While there, and hearing stories, the barbarians were informed of a traitor in their camp. Nathaniel vowed it wasn't him, and after a brief struggle, he won the test of strength against the current barbarian leader. Nathaniel's reign was long, and he had many sons, two in particular were his favorites, Trevor and Gregor, who was younger than Trevor. When Nathaniel died, he vowed Gregor should rule, not Trevor. This started a civil war that tore Houde apart. The next fifty years were chaos.
The High Low War
During the civil war, the barbarians had stripped themselves away from the government once more, and under the leadership of Coyote, they proceeded to flourish. Slowly, the warring lowlanders grew wary of the rising threat that they percieved from the barbarians. They put aside their differences, and as one under the leadership of Jackal Houde, attacked the barbarians. This lead to the Highlander, Lowlander war, and went on for far too long. After two civil wars, the Houde empire was on the verge of self destruction.
Ressurection
Jackal's grandson, Hector, had had enough of this massacre. He used all of his powers as Emperor, and eventually calmed the fires of war. Racial tensions still existed, but the Empire slowly began to reform, and become its own. During this time the greatest cities were built, {Mordred, Calir, Keel}, and the greatest inventions were made, {Sabergun, planar tech}.
This lasting peace continues today.
Customs
Marriage
There is no such thing as marriage within the Houde Empire. This stems from its barbarian roots. As various barbarian nomadic tribes meet in the mountain range, they would exchange females for the night, to prevent inbreding. As some of the barbarians ventured into lower ground, and made villages, they kept this custom, mainly with traders and other roaming peoples for the same reason. Eventually, the tiny villages became big villages, and cities. For some reason, this custom has stayed, even though people tend to pair off during their 30's.
Last names
Children gain the last name of the mother until they hit puberty, then they can change their name if they wish, depending on who they feel has better honor. A person with the las name of Snow, Stone, or River are orphens, who don't know who their parents are.
Age of Consent
The age of consent of Houde is 16, when most children wish to leave their parents anyways. This has worked out fine for our empire.
Houdian Gods
Mother Earth
First and formost, the Houdians believe in the Goddess of the Earth, picturing her as a old motherly type. According to Houdian legends, she was pivotal to the formation of the empire, drawing in the barabrians and the Norsemen. A typical Houdian worship to this Goddess is a tree planted in a yard, or a small garden, but nothing to extravagant. The Houdians believe if Mother Earth wanted somthing extravagant, she would show up in person to ask for it.
Mother Earth, or as she is known by other Gods, Greta, is typically seen as a plump, motherly looking African woman, wearing white clothes and a green apron which always has smudges on it. She has power over the Earth, and hardly involves herself over the affairs of mortals. If she must, she'll either send Gareth, or cause a miracle to happen. She is extremely protective over her experiment, and will not allow any harm to come to it.

The child God of the dead, or Gareth, is represented as a small child. The Houdians do not worship him outright, but the do have common curses involving his name. He collects the souls and redistrubutes them to be ressurected.
The child god is most intimately involved in mortal affairs since his power resides so closely to them. He is known as Gareth, and usually is causing pranks or making mischief. This God does have a serious side, which he shows only to Mother Earth. If he is really her son is an unknown fact, even the Gods do not know this. He is usually in the form of a small barbarian child, wearing red, tan and black hides.

The God of War is mostly a barbarian God, but he does have some worshippers in the lowlanders. He was mostly worshipped in older times, when the land was still in the throes of the civil wars, and consquently, myths have been circulating about his defeat to the child God of the dead.
Tempus and Gareth are two different people, one is the cause of the other, but they inhabit the same space. Since Gareth has been around longer, and has defeated Tempus on numerous occasions, he controls the astral change between the two Gods.

Races of Houde
Humans
The humans of Houde are normal in most every shape and form. It is odd to note that they descend from combined evolution of neanderthals and cro-magnon man. But this combined evolution has had no positive or negative side effects, and they are normal humans.
The lowlanders mostly have blond or brown hair, and light colored eyes. They are of slight build.
The highlanders, or barbarians, have red or brown hair and dark colored eyes. They are more muscular than their lowlander cousins.
Creations
Creations come in a varity of shapes and sizes, most of them resembling a walking animal. Unlke catboys/girls, or foxgirls, these Creations do not appear to be sleek or beautiful, most of them being abnormally shaped with huge muscles, resembling more of a beast, than a particular boy or girl. They were made by VonGlump, when he had constructed an army to destroy the Houdian city of Mordred. Now they have their own village, near Keel, and they are enjoying a peaceful life working with their human counterparts.
Aerotech
XJ
The XJ is the main fighter plane of the Houdian empire. Built much like a Harriet jet, it has high manuverable capability, and the ability to land on rocky surfaces. They carry a total of four missles, and two chain guns.
XT
The main transport of the Houdian army, the XT has small cargo bay to carry troops and bombs. It is the most widely used plane in the Houdian army, but unlike it's XJ and XB cousins, it does not posess high manuverablilty.
XB
The helocopter/bomber of the Houdian empire. This copter was built for pure speed, enabling it to go faster than most jets. The blades can be retracted to form wings, the main engines can thus be enabled, sending the XB quite fast. For this purpose, these copters are used as speed bombers, and always first to engage in fights. Because of their relative small size however, the XB's can only carry one bomb, two missles, and one chain gun.
XG
Only four of these mammoth planes exist. With the ability to carry multiple planes inside of it, multiple people, as well as enough bombs to decimate any city with, the Houdina Grand Transport is one massive plane.
Weapon tech
Most of Houdian Weapon tech is concurrent with the real world except for two weapons.
The lance gun, and the sabergun.
Lance gun
The lance gun is shaped very much like a lance. When activated into lance mode, the tip of the lance falls off, the shaft detaches, leaving a hole in the middle, forming a tunnel of magnets. The handle lengthens, becoming a sniper handle and trigger. The tip of the gun is a bullet, which is inserted into the handle. When the trigger is pulled, the magnet rings flip, causing the bullet ot shot out at incredible speeds. The drawback of this weapon is the lack of ammo.
Sabergun
The sabergun has two modes, the saber mode (SM) and the gun mode (GM). The saber made represents the a saber in most ways, except for the handle. The handle still possess the gun trigger, causing the usage of this sword to be different, because it is held at a different angle. The gun represents an old fashion revolver, with a blade attached to the turret, which is longer than normal. This weapon is the standard Houdian weapon.

Also known as Snake, this sickle and chain weapon (kusarigama) emits powerful lightning attacks, and doesn;t leave a scratch, it cuts the soul.
It's animal spirit is the Snake.
