The Devoted Act (an introductory RP)

28-10-2003, 22:45
Laurence looked down from the top of the Lord's Mountain. He had climbed the mountain as an act of devotion to the Lord God, a testement to his will and his faith. He had achieved it. He was finally at the top of this 4000 metre high spire of rock after a week of climbing. In all directions, he could see the sea. The sun shown down upon the blue and white crested, crystal-like waves and he saw the miracle of creation. At the foot of the Lord's Mountain he saw ancient, pine forests. Hot air rose from the slopes through geysers at the base of the Mountain and it carried the scent of pine resin and of flowers into the sky. Further down toward the sea, he could see the grasslands and the fields of farms manned by the Commune's devotees. To the North of the Mountain, he could just make out the city of Christhope where 800,000 lived A cathedral rose from the centre, a place of worship and of governence. Beyond the fields and the city, the golden-sanded coastline acted as a barrier against the fair yet treacherous sea.
Atop the mountain, it was cold. As cold as death. The sky was clear blue and the clouds were few and far between.
Laurence opened his pack and pulled several small metal poles. He assembled the poles so that they formed one long flagpole. He then stuck it into the ground and raised the flag of the Commune, the symbol of the Lord God and his son, Jesus Christ.

A Statement from the Christian Commune

The Lord's Representative presiding over the Christian Commune

God's Children within the sphere of the world. We are the Christian Commune and I am the leader, the Archbishop Francis Charles. Today, one of our most athletic devotees, a Mr. Laurence Alexander, ascended alone up the Lord's mountain at the centre of the Communal Island and rose to the very top. There he implanted the flag of the Commune. This was his act of faith, to do what he did best for the glory of God. To climb the mountain is a task that none would brave alone yet he would do so, defy the maw of doom so that he may prove himself among the mighty of this world before the Lord. He has returned to us, in good health and he is being treated well.
The Christian Commune has been an isolated society for so long but we have gained in strength, five million devotees and we see that isolation is no longer necessary. We open our hearts, our minds to the world and offer friendship to our fellow Christians.

As sailors amongst storms seeing land, it is good to see other countries that despite numerous heresies and pagan faiths are keeping the true faith...
