trading
is trading all rp or does it affect my country stats?
It's RP for the most part, but your trading has to be reasonable (for example, you can't go buying large starships this early in the game)...if you look at the top of the page, one of the stickies (Cant remember which one) has a link to figure out what your budget is.

is trading all rp or does it affect my country stats?
Trading is RP, and affects your RP stats.
Lets say for example you bought 50 T-90 tanks from Dark Terror. Lets say that my country didn't like yours for some reason, and invaded you. You could use those 50 tanks to defend against my invasion forces in a RP.
Read the fourms at the top of the page to get a better idea for what I am talking about.

OOC:
This is the pipian.com GDP calculator for NationStates, it takes the statistics from your nation so it changes as you change. You can set the military budget to any percent you like. However, be reasonable, around a maximum of 10 or 20 might be sustainable. When roleplaying, always put reason above what you think is fun, then you'll do fine and have fun at it.

are there certain people I should not buy from???Yes, but it all depends on your politics. You'll make your own decisions of who to and who not to trust in time.
