Are you tired of our plastic society?
If you are tired of top 40 music and weak-ass trends, join the Heavy Metal region and endorse Veenstra Arioski. Together, we will make it real.
Heavy Metal - the only "real" region!!
hint---->
plastic = flexible, not static....
I admire the desire to see changes in the commercialistic, trend driven society that infects the world with its media, but Heavy Metal? I’m confused as to how a musical sub-group, driven by the same trends that the author condemns, is going to help.

Thank you Abdua. I admire your attempt to understand the issue.
Actually this "musical sub-group" (my good god!!) is driven by the desire to be progressive and different. Good metal musicians compose and perform songs that stretch the limit of their abilities. These people refuse to follow the typical "cookie cutter" format that dominates modern radio and television. Think Mozart or Beethoven of the new millenium. Have you heard Opeth's Damnation?
Unfortunately, society continues to consume and cherish manufactured garbage at an alarming rate. Of course, this issue stretches far beyond musical taste. To me, Heavy Metal is a symbol of freedom and the desire to move forward.
Technology and Business are moving forward. It's just too bad mankind isn't.
For the love of god, turn off that radio!!

You're kidding right?
Appreciation of a genre of music is one thing, but decreeing that it will save the world...I dunno, it sounds kinda...silly to me. I know that people need something else to conform to in order to counter what is mainstream, but all you are doing is offering another conformist alternative, no matter how "underground" or "not cookie cutter" it is.
Furthermore I'll just ignore the fanboyesque attempt to compare ANY genre of modern music to the great masters....there is just a whole differant world of complexity to the music done by Vivaldi and Bach and others compared to...Heavy Metal or ANY genre of modern music. It just isn't there, if you think it is though, then fine, but anyone who studied music would be insulted by this.

Bah, I prefer Power Metal :)
Plenzonia,
First of all, who said Metal is going to change the world? All I'm attempting to do is get people to move to the Heavy Metal region in a computer game. I'm a musician and I love progressive metal. Please read this paragraph, again...
"Unfortunately, society continues to consume and cherish manufactured garbage at an alarming rate. Of course, this issue stretches far beyond musical taste. To me, Heavy Metal is a symbol of freedom and the desire to move forward."
Secondly, have you studied music? I have. Before making a general statement about "modern music" not being as complex, please turn off your radio and give a listen to some of the dedicated boys who spend countless hours in their studios, learning music. Just because most people haven't heard of it, doesn't mean is doesn't exist. This is a big world buddy. \m/
