By the way, why the hell should single nation claim whole systems? Claiming a whole planet is ridiculous - the biggest nation has 3 billion citizens, and they could all fit on Earth - and nations with 500 million citizens claim whole systems.. Errh. I'm planning to maybe claim some moon or small planet, but nothing bigger than that. There's simply no need for it.

I don't know what these "puppet powers" are that you are claiming dominion over and how they are going to mysteriously support you for no good reason, but I'm not afraid. Need I remind you that I am the lord of ALL of Io? If I wanted to send out "puppet powers," I could do so just as readily as you. And I don't think I need to tell you that no less than two of these nations have a population over 1 billion, for what it's worth... while I fail to see why the total population of a nation is cause for alarm.

Lord Lancaster watches from his throne room high within the Bone-Cave as a single frigate full of Meteorapolitan slaves and Hordesmen drifts into the Pollux system. There are about 100 civilians and soldiers aboard the vessels, all there for the purpose of exploration and infrastructure establishment. There is no military purpose involved...

...and the great Lord and Commander of the Burninatonian Hordes rises in anger as the star explodes (somehow) and destroys the frigate.

You'll need to define "east", and you'll have trouble with that as Earth rotates, changing the direction of East from the point of view of someone on Earth.

The Milky Way has two spiral arms spreading out from the core. Assuming that Earth's north pole is "up", then you'd be better advised to give directions by going spinward or antispinward from Earth, toward or away from the core (from Earth's point of view), and "up" or "down" from the galactic plane of the ecliptic (an imaginary flat surface running from the ends of the spiral arms through the core).

Space has three dimensions, and navigating (or astrogating) is completely different from all Earthly references.

You might also wish to draw a Cartesian 3-dimensional grid based on the center of the galaxy, and make all of your references from that point. Earth is about 25,000 light years from the center in one spiral arm, tending slightly toward the trailing edge of the Arm, and slightly above the plane of the ecliptic. With three axes in the Cartesian coordinate system (X being from the tips of the spiral arms through the center along the plane of ecliptic, Y running at right angles to that through the center and also on the plane of ecliptic, and Z running above and below the plane of ecliptic through the center of the galaxy.

Being Terracentric, we'll assume that Earth is in the positive X and Y quadrant, and we've already decided that we're above the plane of ecliptic, so that makes Z positive as well. This makes Earth +25000/+2100/+50 from the galactic center (using the sequence X, Y, Z). These are- of course- very rough numbers, and anyone with more precise figures should feel free to post them.

We formally condemn Soviet Trasa for destroying a star and it's acompanying planetary bodies, plus the destruction of a foreign scientic vessel. If not for the fact that we are gearing up for a possible war with another nation we would be tempted to take Soviet Trasa down.

And you needn't be surprised by this fact about maturity. I'm almost 21 years old, and many of the December/January nations are as young as 13. Thus, I'm NEVER surprised.

The Possiblity of Soviet Trasa is 'owning' large amounts of space territory is impossible, the level at which your nations technological advances has gone, does not corresbond with you 'big' ideas.
This ladies and gentlemen is a form of.....GODMODING.
I demand that Sovet Trasa gives up its claim unless it wants to be obliterated,my forces are sitting, bored and have nothing to do, so this should be a bit of fun.

People, people... you have to understand that Pollux WAS blown up.

By us. No one was there at the time and we needed a testbed for our Nova Bombs.

Yes it was RPed out, only one person objected and Ignored me, but they were still using castles and trebuches. I would go and search for the thread, but it is gone with the last purge.
