updates on colonization

The Nation of Phyrric had implemented a limited space program 35 years ago to help off-set population, search for new resources, scientific gathering, and exploration.

The first colony was the completion of the Battle Station Epirus I. This colony/station has been a success and seen profit margins that exceed expectations. The Station generates a net profit of 125 billion amc annually from rents, services and constructions.

Next, we travelled to the Moon and established a colony there that has seen prosperity and now serves flights from Epirus I and Earth twice daily. The Moon is now a popular tourist spot for wealthy individuals from Antiquity, Haven, and other regions that are aware of the colony. The Earth looks great when in the full phase. The population has grown from 100 citizens since implementation 24 years ago to well over 60,000.

Mars has been somewhat of a struggle. The initial population of 100 citizens that was established has not grown much since implementation. Rumor was a construction of another Battle Station, but with the continuous wars that take place on Mars, it was believed it would stir more trouble than solutions. The Mars colony only has a current population of 240 citizens since its initial 'shake and bake' 16 years ago and is losing money.

Io is just now developing at an extremely rapid rate. The atmosphere is not totally ideal, but as close to Earth as one might expect. This is going to be a huge tourist spot, perhaps to pass the Moon colony in 10 years. There is nothing like watching Jupiter rise on the North-Eastern horizon, and rise it does. The population has increased from the initial 100 to 7,680 in just the past 4 years. People seem to like it here. Reminds them of home except when a cold breeze hits them and slows their motion greatly.

There are no plans to establish another 'shake and bake' colony at this time. It is practical to establish another Battle Station near Io, but due to the peaceful nature of the satelites around Jupiter, this appears as not to be needed since Io does have its own port at this time, with limited services of course.

This has been brought to you by the Minister of Colonization.

Due to recent activities (and boredom, more of B than A), an update on activities for Phyrric colonies is mandated.

The Battle Station Epirus I has seen military activity and an increase in international services. Repairs and supplies come and go on a daily basis. The number of different peoples that come and go has implemented a newer translator service to be installed for use. 8 different languages has been added to the current hardware that runs the translator.

The Moon colony has reached 3 million. The main population has been visitors that have elected to stay as permanent citizens. The gravity is much less than that of Earth and the hospitals are crammed with people trying to adjust. Those that were born on the Moon find that illnesses are less frequent than those born on Earth, a reason that might be related to the temperatures that is need for bacteria to sustain itself and the filter systems that are used for ventilation.

The Mars colony received a close encounter for warfare and leads management to make the following changes. A new Station, officially named Corcyra I, will be constructed and will have external docking bays only for services. The weapon systems will be identical to those found on Epirus I and II, but less numerical. Stats are not released at this time, but it appears that it will be a modular station nevertheless. In addition, a military base is under construction and a full company will be present exclusively for the colonies defense. In addition, 6 batteries will be constructed, each one will be capable of surface to orbit attacks. growth has been stagnant as the colony still has less than 150,000 citizens.

The colony of Io has been the most productive. Epirus II Battle Station was successfully completed 7 years ago and offers the same services as Epirus I that is located at Earth. The population has reached 4 million citizens and it is rumored to have the best views in the Solar System. Jupiter rising is one hell of a sight. There has not been any threat of attack, but the Parliament that is on Io wishes a defense force since what has happened on Mars has set an example. this is still under consideration by the Great House located on Earth. The local citizens do not wish for independence, but do wish for provincehood. This will be included in the upcoming election.

More detail to follow in the future.
