With the death of Xanthalian dictator Simon Zabertini, the time has come for leadership of the country to be passed on. In accordance with Simon's final wishes, the new dictator will be elected by international poll. The candidates follow.

Clarabel Zabertini:
Niece to Simon Zabertini and greatX48 granddaughter of the original Zeke Zabertini, Clarabel wishes to see military funding restored and the continued expansion of Xanthal. "I will seek to expand our great nation into the Dars and Xolin systems, naturalize the primitives of Xolin II, and tap their resources as our own. I am also opposed to the recent cut in funding for our military. Xanthal is a great nation, and cannot afford to be undefended."

Gorn Dal:
A Thanic ambassador who has expressed intrest in power, Gorn's campaign centers around expelling the Trasnian pirates from Xanthalian space. "I don't care what laws protect them, these pirates are ruining our reputation by looting and pillaging under our protective umbrella. They go against all that we stand for."

Nightshade Carrin:
A catperson with elven blood, Nightshade seeks to carry on the socialist policies of Xanthal while increasing civil freedoms. "Xanthal is a great nation, as are it's people. The people are our lifeblood and must be afforded every liberty possible in return for the services they do our great society every day. As such, income equality must continue to be paramount. I agree that our military is important, but I feel that the current 5% of our income is enough to support the armed forces adequately."

Zol Olor:
A former convict cured in Xanthalian re-education camps, Zol (a male draconic) campaigns for a reform of the Xanthalian legal system. "We need to cut costs by getting rid of the last of our prisons and stopping the practice of giving convicts the choice to leave the country. All criminals should be re-educated. If that doesn't work they must be exiled to Mirfak III or executed."

The Republic of Tiburon, an ally of Xanthal and displeased with the fact that none of these candidates offer a capitalist, democratic solution, will wish most dearly for Carrin, Olor, or preferrably both to opt for a more humane, capitalist, and democratic process.

What are the candidates counterclaims against each other...like...how does Clarabel Zabertini fell about the legal system or the pirates, etc. I smell (and want) an rped debate!

The Democratic Republic of Cretal hereby endorses Nightshade Carrin.

-She has formerly held high positions in the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Truth, and Equality.

Mrs. Imperialistic. The last leader like her we had got us faced off with about half a dozen angry nations. I'm glad she wasn't it.
Big military + Expansionism + Not dealing with external issues + Opressiveness = Angry people.

Yet if you add intelligence and capitalism into the mix you have one hell of a nation

Clarabel could do good things to Xanthal, so we voted for her, but upon further thought, she seems a bit to......outgoing, I think the word is outgoing, yes.

Steel Butterfly: Ah, but therein lies the problem. Xanthalians despise capitalism. It's become engrained in their culture to hate it after millenia under successful socialist policies and observing the opression in capitalist countries.

Kecha: Outgoing... That'll do it.
