What space nations are mostly or entirely within the solar system, and/or do not have FTL capability?

OOC: Me. This is widely known. Personally I think a lot of people do the space thing for ego... go out, you have a whole planet. Then its PlanetStates! Bah.

My ships travel (slowly) throughout parts of the Solar System.

Sadly, they're "realistic" - as in, VASIMRS (even if 20x more efficient than NASA's current best).

I don't have FTL, because only Alcubierre warp drives are even slightly plausible to me - and I have that on something else.

I'm so happy to find this many. So far, I've been playing this nation mostly as "those wierd people in the background", but I need to start establishing some commercial and/or diplomatic relations with other spacefarers for future developments. So, if anybody needs lots of cheap minerals, help with some major construction or something else spacedy, I'd like to start up an RP with you.

Sol System, no FTL. Won't do it. However, I am currently researching a jump gate portal tech with Snel Race. More complicated, slightly more realistic. I guess. Just don't want to have to completely rehash my ships with fold engines or something like that. Too much of a bother.

I have 60 O'Neill Island 3 colonies in Side-3(L2), A lunar city(Granada) in the Tsiolkovsky crater, astroid bases between L2 and L3(Solomon), at L2(A Baoa Qu), and between L2 and L4(Pezun).

Finaly, I have an astroid base in the astroid belt past Mars(Axis).

The furthest ships of mine ever go is Jupiter, but it's just an energy fleet sent to collect Helium-3.

The Aelosian craftworld is located in the orbit of Venus, and the Aelosian colonies are located in Venus and Uranus. We are looking forward to fund new colonies in Mars and Pluto, but Mars is overpopulated and the terraforming process in Pluto is very difficult to achieve. The civilian vessels use a Warp portal to travel between the Solar system, and the military fleets has silenced, warp hyperdrives.

Almost all space activities of the Aelosian empire take place inside the Solar system. No civilian vessel has FTL capabilities.

We are looking forward to fund new colonies in Mars and Pluto, but Mars is overpopulated and the terraforming process in Pluto is very difficult to achieve.

Don't terraforn Pluto. Many nations, The Belmore Family and The Snel Race for two, will be displeased.

Sol system, no FTL, about 20 ship fleet, mostly mothballed Crimmond stuff with the Hyperdrives removed and larger sublight engines installed. I can tool around the inner solar system pretty easy, but beyond Mars seems too much trouble.

Sol, no FTL and im yet pondering will i ever have. If i will, it wont be any sooner than three to four months from now. Very very small space capabilities yet compared to some of the bigger space nations out there.

Right now, I'm looking at Bryn Shander, Clairmont, Baggera, Santa Barbara, Der Angst, Sakkra, Wispering Voices, and maybe I. Pluto (a bit far out...) in no particular order as good pnations to RP with. I'll see if I can dig up any IC reasons to interact with any of you.

Eh. My main nation is actually on Earth, and my fleet is very similar to the Trade Federation's in purpose.

As far as IC reasons to start RPing with the Conglomerate.....

One of my subcorps recently began marketting a service selling foreign aid to countries like insurance (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=83705), my leader recently has taken a great disliking towards Muppets (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82651) (although no one knows that ICly yet), and the Conglomerate often buys up smaller Corporations like a fungus from hell (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82266). Entirely within the solar system, with limited FTL capabilities. Angelus has a few deep-space mining and research facilities, but no substantial extrasolar presence beyond that.

NYNJ- I've seen a bit of your stuff, it looks good. The piracy issue might be a good one to get us together, if I can figure out some way to get a Guild ship attacked by pirates. Actually, that might be good for getting together with a bunch of people....

I'm trying my best to bait pirates now lol. But I guess 2 transports escorted by 1 destroyer just isnt good enough.

We have a colony on the moon, a space station and non-FTL ships. They're mainly used for defense and transport.

On topic, sol system, no FTL, and not a terribly huge space presense (Two small fleets for a total of 70 ships, and one large space station.)

Hmm. I've got space stuff, and don't have FTL. I do, however, have reactionless drives, which work by a system called "bullshit alien physics". If you've got a problem with that, I don't care.

As for actual space assets, I have High Stone (a three-km metallic asteroid in orbit of Earth, mined for ore) and the Setnet (a network of all-purpose Set-class satellites orbiting Earth, used for communications, weather prediction, and surveillance of stuff both on and off Earth (although they're not excellent at seeing small stuff)).

I wasn't planning on getting FTL until aroun December at the earliest. Then Capsule Corporation made me a deal that I couldn't refuse for plans on some tech. I even have space fold on several ships, but I can't use it until I get my wireless energy transmission project done. Oh well.

[OOC: The Empire of The Eternal Dawn has one space colony, the Sol Orbital Colony of Vilya Elenosto, as well as a division of the Imperial Defense Forces dedicated to warfare/exploration/misc operations in space (the IDF SN). More Sol Orbitals are planned in the future, under the directive of Vilya Elenosto - which will eventually move out into stellar space, and sit btw. Earth and Mars. EOTED isn't interstellar capable, but does have 'FTL' capability - known as T-drive, transitional drive allows a 1day journey time Earth --> Pluto (but as yet is only fitted to one ship).]

My space fleet are in the Solar System, and have in the past experimented with FTL drives, but decided it was not the way to go.

Right-o! Here's a rather all-purpose scenario (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1939199). Could have a pirate attack, salvagers, whatever. 'Twould take place between Earth's leading Trojan Point and Venus. Good way to meet my people.

My ships rarely head towards the sun, and would never be as far from Earth as S-E L4.

If it takes place near Venus, the Aelosian star defense forces (First and Second Wrath Fleet), would be in the area.

Primarily Earth based non-terran race trying to use humans to rebuild it's tech base

FTL: Yes but not instantanious drive capability (use the concept of sidereel space, not that technically true but I like the limitations the concept forces on me)

Live on plants in other solar systems: Yes, but we tend to keep to a few surviving fringe worlds...But we are willing to trade minerals with you. Primary population is still on earth.
