Drug Exports on Rise in Genya: Genyan Drugs in YOUR Nation?

Genya

Genya, a liberal democratic nation, has a growing problem: drugs are swamping the streets. There are very few drug dealers in genya, but there are many drug factories. On boats said to be exporting fish and beef, Genyan criminals are making huge profits by selling drugs to the 1st world.

While most people want the drug trade stopped by the government, some officials have stated that the drug trade is improving the economy, and that "it's not hurting us. Genya is only benefiting from the exports of illegal drugs."

Kaze Progressa's Foreign Ministry have noted the situation in Genya, and have responded by reinforcing their attempts to prevent drugs entering their nation.

Watti Bomtasi, Foreign Minister, has announced a K225m (US$86m) boost in airport and seaport security funding, aimed in part at preventing drugs entering the country. Some opposition has gathered within the country, with business leaders (especially those based in and around the country's main port, Quarua) arguing it will increase journey times.

Renard

While the United Socialist States of Renard has a liberal drugs policy, it prefers drugs to be produced locally, as imports are extremely hard to tax. If Genya would be interested it could be profitable for both countries to discuss the legalised import of drugs.

Taxes raised from these products, like tobacco and alcohol are plowed back in to healthcare. Just as the tax revenues could be invested to help the Genyan economy.

The Campus Republic of Academicea openly applauds any action to remove narcotics of all forms from the illegal markets. We at the Campus feel it our great priority to prevent the circulation of drugs in order to safeguard the health of our scientists and students. We have instituted a campus/nationwide border patrol and internal monitoring scheme in order to prevent the smuggling of narcotics into Academicea or the manufacture of such chemicals within the Campus itself.
