BULLETIN, Maraka City----
After decades of self-imposed isolation, in which time Maraka's population not only increased exponentionally but the nation created a succesful space colonization program, the young and newly elected Sultan Abu Zani declared a new "Initiative."
Standing before an international press gathering, Abu Zani proudly declared Maraka's new project. "Maraka is a peaceful and modern nation, where many races are united in harmony under Islam. But many of our brother nations on the continent of Africa are troubled."
"Although the First World has made many attempts, the problems of starvation and civil war are present in many countries. The Marakan Initiative Plan will be primarily in the form of foreign aid to starving, undeveloped nations."
"In nations where there is civil strife, Maraka may have to use military intervention in order to get this aid to starving, oppressed multitudes. Maraka is the largest and most powerful nation in Africa. It is time we became leaders for our continent, and set an example for the Islamic World."
Although the Sultan gave no specific countries, there are many 'troubled' nations of Africa that come immediately to mind. Civil wars, famine, and starvation have choked many areas of the world's second largest continent.
Parliement has already approved the act, which has garnered high support from a Marakan populace confident in its own strength and power. The first steps of the initiative plan are expected to come within a few weeks.
