The Ministry of Defense is planning to upgrade the one thousand T-72M1's currently in our inventory. The T-72M1's will be given a sophisticated Galileo Avionica TURMS-T computerised fire control system, Kontakt-5 ERA armor, and the 1,000hp V-85 diesel engine. Upgrades are expected to cost 5,200,000 Dinars ($4,000,000 USD) per tank.

Al Anbar is also willing to provide technical assistance to outside countries who wish to upgrade their T-72 tanks.

We have completed upgrades on two T-72M1 tanks.

Your joking, right? I would sugest avoiding American Tanks and Isrealis tanks as well.

The Iraqi Army has also been ordered to begin upgrading our T-80UD tanks. The T-80UD tanks will have an improved 1,500HP engine, the Shtora-1 electro-optical countermeasures system, the Arena vehicle protection system, improved tracks, thermal protection for the engine, and six smoke grenade launchers on each side of the turret.

The Iraqi Army is pushing the T-80UD upgrades ahead of the T-72M1 upgrades and expects them to be mostly completely by the end of the year.

OOC: Russian tanks are good tanks, only without the urban capabilities of the Merkavas and the advanced electronics of the M1 series.

With ERA, defensive systems, fire control, and all the usual electronics, the T-80UM2 Black Eagle and the T-80UD can be a threat to the US tanks.

Not all American equipments are "much better".

ooc: As far as I'm concerned those tanks are very capable, even against their American and Israeli Counterparts. If the Iraqi's had better fire control systems, Night vision and stabilised traverse, the ground war in Operation: Desert Storm would have been vastly different. T-72's especially are very good tanks, and when you upgrade them, like he is doing they are very lethal to even the most advanced MBT's.

The Abrams is not the best tank in the world. Merkavas, Black Eagles, Leopard IIs and T-90s are all better...

OOC:It comes down to training as well and you can take down a more advanced tank with a older one or even take down a Main battle tank with a medium tank if your tank crews are highly trained and you use the right tactics.

OOC: True, the US makes good warships (Arleigh Burkes, Ticonderogas, Seawolfs for example), but most "Tank experts" consider Leopard II the best tank, while the M1 series boasts high-tech electronics and good overall armor. The T-80 series is also a good competitor.

Since we are in charge of thye russian tanks we do not mind handing some over but latly we have had funding problems so it will cost. if u help us in ouyr funding ans taxes in the government of russia we will be please to be your allie amd supply you with many new upgraded tanks.

We can upgrade them to T-72AG standard, which makes them more like T-84's than T-72's. If you have the cash, well add ETC guns.


We can also upgrade your T-55's to T-55AGM standard.

The debate on whose tanks are better really just depends on our wallet and your preference of design. I like the M1 series and i like the T-90 series as well, but both each have a chance of destroying each other cause they both have cannons.

Lusaka's T-55s (generously donated by certain allies during the Lumbosan war..) have long since been upgraded by domestic factories, and now bear the identification T-56(L), and mount domestic 105mm guns capable of firing an ATGM based loosely on the old AT-8. While not exactly modern front line MBTs, these are employed as medium tanks, taking out soft targets, static defences, and so on, while the 120mm-mounting Olifant L-2s engage opposing tanks (unless the Mi-28s get there first- if the armed forces need anything, it is more helicopter crews and spare parts..and munitions..and fuel..ah, bother).

Well, we can give them NATO 120mm guns. Then you only need 120mm ammunition.

T-80UM3=Black Eagle if its accepted into service. T-80UM2 is just a T-80UM with drozd, regardless of some western reports indicating otherwise.

We also offer upgrades to MTLB, BTR-60, BTR-70 and BTR-80, BRDM-2, and BTR-50 vehicles.
