Anyone tried this idea yet?
Has anyone tried RPing a security service for hire? I mean a sort of Secret Service that could be hired to cover diplomatic events or whatever else might become a target for some wacko terrorists.
That would be kind of cool, I think. I just might do it.
Any thoughts?
Hmmm, it hasn't been done in my time, at least not mainstream. Sorta like mercs, right? That has been done.
Sort of like mercs, only not for combat - for security.
Plus most mercs don't care who's side they're on as long as they get paid - my stanards would be a bit higher.
I've seen it, but it never caught on really.
I can't say that I have, but it seems like a good idea.

I'm thinking this could turn into a sort of FBI-for-hire, maybe even including a couple of countries acting as agents...but that's probably getting ahead of myself.
Celack did it (and I was part of it) once, but that was a part of the Celack government's intelligence service, working exclusively in his country...maybe this freelance organization would get some more attention...I dunno. I'm just throwing out ideas for RP.
I'm running a diplomatic summit in my nations' capital. How much would you chrage to:
Guard the building.
Guard the diplomats, from a distance whilst they tour the city.
Increase security around the city.
Etc?

It has been running for a few RL weeks (Two RolePlay days). However it will be open for a while longer.

How many delegates are there? Where is the main building located? How big is the city? Have you recieved any credible threats? What sorts of precautions do you want taken? How visible do you want the security around the main building to be? What sorts of assets (helicopters, vehicles, etc) can you provide (since we won't be lugging our own around everywhere)?
With all that info I can probably give you an guesstimate.
(this should work okay as a test case I suppose)

The Diplomatic Summit is being hosted in the Rotovian Diplomatic Plaza. It is located in in Rotovias' capital city, quite orignally named Capital City. The building resembles the World Trade Center (South Tower). Prior to 9/11...one should hope :D
No viable threats, yet, one deligate is having some kind of medicak emergancy.
I basically don't want any delegates dieing in my nation, that never looks good.
In the main building security should look obvious, and look tough. In the streets and protecting delegates, discreet is the word.
As for equipment, you name it and we'll have it in 24 hours...max.
