Hawkmen manufacture aero-space corvette (pic)

Greetings all! Lord Vultan here once again, informing you all that we've begun production of an aero-space Corvette. This little beauty is my daughter Lira's idea, and what good father would deny their children a new toy! But anyway, here it is. We're calling it the Kestrel, and we have 2 of these that have been test driven and have passed inspection. We can probably make about 20 per year or so, once we get the manufacturing process down pat.

Now a little information.

The Kestrel class has 2 liquid hydrogen chemical mix boosters for orbital insertion. These can be used twenty times before needing to be refueled. After-wards, in atmosphere or in space, it uses ion engines to propel it around. It accelerates at a rate of 375 meters per second. The hull is made of 1.5 meters titanium/cermite steel, with a layer of aluminum underneath to block out all that messy EM energy. In between the two hulls is a layer of water, quite useful for blocking cosmic radiation.

The Kestrel has three weapon mounts. 2 single-barreled 30 cm mass driver turrets are located on the sides of the craft, and a double-barreled 30cm mass driver turret is on the belly. These turrets are remote-fired from a control area inside the ship, and are retractable. There is also a pair of torpedoe banks on the ship. It holds 48 small high explosive shaped-charge torpedoes. They accelerate at 800 meters per second for a burn time of 3 minutes, and are guided by a combat computer in the warhead.

The Kestrel is about 30 meters in length and width, 11 meters in height and weighs about 225 tons. It has a crew of 20, with space for five passengers and 3 tons of cargo aside from the standard compliment of stuff the Kestrel would have.

Well, I think that's about all the info I feel like giving right now. I have a feast to attend to, after all. If you have questions or statements or whatever, i'll set this device on record and get back to you later.

Lord Vultan, out!
