The Crystal Spire and Sari Curori (Open RP)
For many years now Thelas has been constructing a massive star ladder to link a future civilian space station to the Crystal City. Now that massive feet of engeneering is complete. Stretching up into the heavens the Crystal Spire, now the tallest building in Thelas, is ready to commemorate the ending of stage on, the the commencing of stage two.
Stage Two:
Stage Two is the construction of a massive space colony in orbit. This colony will be able to house 40 million people. Hastened by the construction of the star ladder, we expect the construction of the space station to only take about two decades (not a lot of time for an elf). Then Stage Three will commence.
Stage Three:
Stage Three is the expanding of the massive space complex. After Stage Three is complete, Sairi Curori (New Moon in Sindarin) will hold two massive construction yards. One for Civilian use, and One for military use.
All National Leaders are invited for the opening of Stage One.

Star Ladder actualy, I have too little time to explain the metalurgy and construction methods (Yes I did think it out that far). The name "Crystal Spire" is just a good name I thought up. I just have to get the Sindarin translation of "Crystal Spire"
Would that thing not become a really big mace?
I mean, it would rotate along with the earth, and knock over other space stations that cannot be moved out of its trajectories.
Fleets would constantly have to reposition themselves.
Bases and other space stations, as well as transport companies would constantly have to change their flight vectors and flight routes, because your space station is swinging around.

Most space ships and space stations sit in goestationary like this station, mostly to avoid exactly that, running into each other. the INSS does not have a problem because it is really the only thing up in space at that orbital sphere.
